These wheels are often incorrectly referred to as "rims". The term "rim" is incorrect because the rim is only the outer portion of a wheel (where the tire is mounted

Yep! It's a chop. Got it from a fellow board member along with another 87 gt. I'll post more pics tomorrow. I'm stoked. I've been wanting a chop forever!
That's a great pair of cars. Tiny Toy and Big ass tires. Almost seems like the jeep 'helped' the chop to get to its current state. Looks REAL nice. Enjoy the car!

Welcome! One fine looking chop that you spent your dough on. There are a lot of great members here, and a wealth of knowledge. Any plans with the new acquisition?
wow strange failure, did the bearings fail? or did the hub come apart? were the hubs modified for different brakes or bolt pattern?
The hubs are part of the RCC big brake package. They were new with the kit. It has been on the car for almost two years. I have never seen or heard of that happening before. RCC told me a month or so they were going out of business. I will try to contact them for you.

If they use the method of using a rear fiero bearing, running a bolt through it and welding the bolt, then I totally understand it:
10 years ago, I bought a 12" wilwood kit from then-company Ryanne. Same idea, and it worked well for about 10k miles. Then, all of a sudden out of nowhere, HORRIBLE bearing growl and BAD noises. Stopped right away, put on blocks and pulled wheels and bearings off to investigate. They had torqued the bolt, and welded ALL THE WAY AROUND the bolt, heating up the bearing to the failure point before it had even hit the road. I got new bearings, new bolts, washers, and nuts (big ole grade 8's), torqued to specs, and had a friend tack each bolt-nut in 3 places. They're still running as far as I know. I'm not an engineer, but even I know enough to know that prolonged welding makes a LOT of heat, I called them on it and they said that "gee, that's weird, never happened before.."
MmmmHmm.. If the RCC kit is the same way, make your own replacements if they won't cover it for you..

The hubs are machined from billet aluminum. They came with new wheel bearings. I first thought he lost it and smacked the curb. I noticed the F1s were replaced with the rims from the Black car did you use an Impact wrench?
I am trying to get with RCC for ya. After this though you might not want to use their hubs. If not to use the brake set up that is on the car you will have to use OEM ones and machine off the rotor part (this will make the offset a little off on the front). I'm just amazed at how it would do that.

I sent you a PM. I'm sure it was a freak incident. I plan to replace the part with the same thing. I just hope they will get me the parts for one side only. As it stands now, I need pretty much all the parts for one side.
