After months of searches on the forum and talking to some of you folks I took the plunge. This past Wed I loaded my 86gt onto a dolly & made the nearly 600 mile trip to The Fiero Factory for a 4.9 swap. Yaaaaaaaa. I arrived there around 8:30 pm and Jeremy graciously met me and my wife and proceeded to show us around the shop, showing me a swap already underway. Then he took me outside to see their notchie which has the 4.9 installed. Oh man does that thing sound great. Then back inside to prepare my wishlist!! Jeremy was very patient and attentive to all my questions and things I wanted done and also some he said I wouldn't need. Now all I have to do is ANXIOUSLY WAIT until early August for it to be ready.

you made the right choice going to Jeremy.. He and his crew will take great care of you and your car.. Im going to be taking my Fiero to them in August or September for a 3.4 swap, i cant wait.. They also did a full suspension and brake upgrade for me a few months back, they do top notch work...

It also makes me happy to hear what it seems like is Jeremy is getting alot of buisness.. I just hope he has time to do mine come August!

His business must be very good. There were 5 cars in the shop in different stages of repair and several more outside along with mine waiting to get in.

You will enjoy it. I helped Gene Smith get his car down to The Fiero Factory 4 or 5 years ago when Ed and Rosie were running it. Gene drove the factorys demo car and decided to go with the automatic out of his donor car. We left GR at 8pm on Friday and arrived at 8am Saturday, drove straight through. Boy was the fog thick in the middle of Kentucky that April night. When we arrived we waited for the gang to show up. They were prepping the grounds and getting ready for the swap meet the following week. That 4.9 is a strong engine. Gene drove the donor car and I drove the pickup with his car on the trailer. I figured we would have to swap cars on the trailer along the way as the donor car looked like it wouldnt make it out of Michigan. It looked bad but ran great all the way to Alabama.

Gene loves being able to cruise down the interstate and be just above idle.
