So me and a bunch of my friends were going to philly last night and on the way to pick up my friend kayla i ran out of gas. So im calling a bunch of my friends in the area to see if they can bring me a gas can but im SOL because there all away for the weekend. Well just as i was getting off the phone this girl walks out of the house i was parked in front of, She sees i have my 4 ways on so she comes up and ask's if everything is ok. I replay im out of gas, she says i have a gascan at my house lets go get it and fill your car up. So we were talking on the way to tyhe gas station and she looked a bit young 17-18 ish so than she tells me she just graduated college so that confirmed that she was older than 18. We get to the gas station and i fill up the can and as we were driving back i findout shes into working on and fixing and racing cars.. Immetitley my interist was sparked. We get back to my car and i fill it up thank her and as i was leaving i pulled her number and a dinner date next friday . So where my fiero failed on that one date it madeup for the other night..... i love my car
And your nothing but an immature idiot who has nothing better to do than try and push me around on the internet... have a nice day Idiot.
Come on now, get on with the thread. Just pointing out its not the cars fault you didn't put gas in it. Just because I posted it and not someone else doesn't mean you should ruin your thread.

How the heck did you run out of gas? My cutlass's fuel gauge doesn't work and have never managed that.
i ran outta gas a couple weeks ago. drove nearly 20 miles, mostly on fumes i guess. i was at 1/4 tank.... ive ran to dead emptly on the gauge before with no issue. i cant imagine i drove 1/4 tank worth of driving on just fumes? anyways, pulled in to get gas...STATION WAS OUT OF UNLEADED! lol...went to drive across the street, got the the street (highway) i needed to cross, car died. wouldnt start. brother had to push me UP HILL avoiding busy traffic lol. filled her up and drove away. also, i ended up parked next to a Midget (car, lol) at the first gas station. if i hadnt been dressed like a thug, the old man driving prolly would have asked me about my car lol. at gas station 2, some guy was like "how do you like your fiero? is it a blast to drive...when it has gas?" lol

Oh and everyone runs out of gas at least once - Don't say you haven't done it, we all have. We misjudge the needle, or whatever. But it never happens again, we know better and we know exactly where the car runs out for next time.

I've never run out of gas - because I don't trust the fuel gauge, I go by the trip odometer. It doesn't lie.
Also, while your car may not be a "mood killer," mine has served me well in heightening the tension. (she sits on the rear decklid behind the sail panel, legs wrapped around... Fun fun - BTW, notchies rule )

So far so good. I was always told to never run below a 1/4 that way the fuel pump stays submerged and the seals on it don't dry out. Whether that is true or not, I always fill up at 1/4 of a tank.

My gas gauge on my fiero when says a 1/4 tank it's nearly empty. That's how i ran out of gas with it once. I normally do the same thing and fill up at a 1/4 tank.

I guess I have just been fortunate. I also always keep at lease a quarter of a tank just for the simple fact that if I am ever running late to something or have an un expected stop that I have to make in a timely fashion, I never have to waist time stopping to get gas. I try to be as punctual as possible and that is just one of the ways I achieve that.
On the other hand, that prevents me from knowing exactly what is in my tank and therefore a semi accurate mpg estimation. It is a give and take situation I suppose.

Mine does. Took me a while to figure it out. Then I saw it skipping for a few miles. I can drive 300 miles and it will only register 240-260. Its not consistant at all. Trip odometers can lie also.
My gas gauge sticks at 1/4 tank also. There is still gas but the gauge stops going down. I just use the first 3/4's tank and keep it full whenever possible.

I'v ran out a couple times. once in my firebird once in my old 86 and once in my 87..havent done it in my 86 GT yet.
I just don't understand why PK86 has to post his attempted conquests in General Fiero Chat like some horned up sixteen year old that just got his first car and thinking it will get him laid... sigh.
Grow up...
