That was mostly due to having a real antenna. You can buy antenna kits for most cellphones to use in your car. My cellphone range is huge in my airplane. I call and make car and dinner reservations as Im approaching the city. No mountains or buildings in the way. Ive hit cell towers in Indiana from Columbus.
