Addiction appeased for now.

Found it cruising Craigslist for parts cars.
Looks to only need a clutch master cylinder.
It's an 87 Duke 5spd,my other 3 fiero's are V6/Auto's so this is actually the first 4cyl car I have ever seen.
He wanted $400,I gave him $350 on a gamble since it wouldn't start.
Pretty sure it's gonna be an easy fix and the parts are cheap, clear title.
Wife might use it as an intown runner, but I plan to probrably sell.
No options, but i've got two fully loaded 86 parts cars so might upgrade.

Hang onto it a bit if it's indeed the original blue paint. Blue was only a factory option on the '87 cars.

Haven't checked the RPO codes yet or did much of anything.
I did get it running, and noted a few problems and made a run to the parts store to order some parts.
Should have it on the road when the parts come in on thursday.

It's fate is in the air right now, here are the current possibilities.
1. Wife expressed interest when I told her about it for maybe a run around car for her and my son, after suggested to her.
2.Fix it and sell it,I have two parts car's for what is needed on it and 20% discount at Autozone. I could easily fix it and make it sellable having less than $500 invested-figure I could flip it without paint for $800-$1500 with some labor and slight upgrades.
3. I have a nephew that just turned 17,still no permit(offered him $100 to get it,not into cars though-meh)
4. Have a little sister that turns 16 this summer (doesn't really deserve a car yet though)
5.My papa bill just went into hospice yesterday, and will pass away very soon. He has a 98ish fleetwood caddy that is immaculate.
My uncle called me today (he's taking care of papa bill, and swaps between his charger and papa's caddy) and it died on him near his house. I think it's an easy fix,but with papa passing away the car will go to his daughter who will give it to the grandkids/cousins.
None of them really want it,and being it needs something fixed now I'm thinking to offer trade of the fiero. Uncle said that is likely if they do not just give it to me probrably as everybody has nicer, newer cars.
So the car will sit till I get to OKC to look at it this week.

Paint is badly sunfaded and damaged in a couple places, doesn't look like any other colors under there.
How much should I really care about the paint?
Wife liked the blue, but wanted it a little lighter.

Wife is getting more susceptible to the idea of it I can tell.
She did say she wants different seats though.
She is 4'10" and small, she doesn't like the low.
It's a totally base model car,but I'm confused a bit.
It's a 4cyl 5spd with no power options.
No power windows,mirrors,trunk,defrost etc..
The only option I can see on it with my limited knowledge is air conditioning.
So is it a coupe or an SE?
The vin reflects it as a coupe, but coupes didn't have aero panels did they?
Doesn't look to have been repainted at all.

*Dumb question but that is the Aero front end right?
And I thought only the 88's didn't have a stripe on bottom/two tone style.

Its the coupe. SE's in 87 has the aero package. Now does this new car of yours have a tilt steering wheel. i have seen a blue coupe with absoluteley no option's not even a tilt wheel. Also im going to add any 87 original blue fiero is a rare find.

And no thats not the aero nose thats the coupe nose. The aero nose it that of whats on the fastback GT's

Didn't realize the aero was the same as what was on my 88gt,which is definately different from this one.
It does have tilt steering also though pretty sure.
I have two complete/optioned 86SE parts cars,so this one might end up with all the bells when i'm done with it if the wife keeps it.
The blue is growing on me,as well as the notchback.

There is a yellow 88 formula on craigslist for 3500$,think I was on okc.
Papa bill passed away last night,so car might go to grandkids.
Will find out when I go up there this week and check Cadillac.
I should check out the 88 formula while I'm there, maybe he'll trade me for the caddy.
