I just wired in a sunfire mirrors with map lights (like it sooo much better) and now im looking to eliminate that big grey box that used to function for lights/visor holder. Got an idea as making that a storage pocket like I saw in a cavalier not too long ago, probably out of fiberglass, But im not sure yet. any other suggestions on what to do with it?
I'm going to make a custom piece to replace it in my car. I haven't decided on design and utility yet, though. Most likely it will have courtesy lights, and an AM-OLED display for a clock and potentially other info. Was going to swap in a mirror with compass and everything, but I don't like the overly bulky ones with the map lights, and the little square for the compass/temp looks weird. So I'm just going to go for auto-dimming, maybe with the on-star/homelink buttons, and integrate compass/temp readings elsewhere in the cabin.

Love the clock idea, my cd player likes me to not know the time. I just started fiberglassing a little holder-thing today. not sure how id incorperate a clock in now though. but thanks for the input!
I took my dome light housing, and using the exhisting wires as well as my own, made it into a switchbox. 4 switches for fog lights, interior lights, and stereo monitoring gauges. Then upholstered it to match the rest of my interior. Looks awesome!

What about a flip down DVD screen? Probably block the mirror when driving but could be neat at car shows.
I am for this modification too It is not the place you want to be looking at a screen i also like the value of lcd visors too but again neck bending viewing.
