Was playing with a 68 charger earlier today about a mile away from my shop. In this area of Wichita where every street that intersects with the main road, there is a ramp in the far right lane. The Charger hit the gas, I did too and as I passed him there was an intersecting street coming up. Well I tried to move into the left lane, I mean I was about 20 car lengths in front of the Charger in about 2 seconds. At this point I was about in the middle and was angling at the ramp. I tried to correct it back but it was too late and the car left the ground. While it was in the air it rotated clockwise back square with the road but when it came down it corrected the other direction. I heard the tires chirp as it came down and the car bounced. I was heading toward the curb. I then started drifting back the other direction and it suddenly straightened out and all was good. Man what an adrenaline rush. Nothing broke, all is well. I bet that guy in the Charger about pooped when he saw me pull out of that one.

Do you know why the car left the ground? Are ya sure it did?
I don't have a fast Fiero. But I do have a very fast car. I had just changed rear tires from sticky mickeys to plain street tires. I had very similar thing happen to me when getting on a on ramp to I-40 Rolling into the throttle I can feel the car start to float as the big engine picks up my little car with forward rush. As I am crossing lanes to pass the car in front.I here the cars engine bouncing of the rev limiter. I feel a lose of control and a drift to the right as the car is falling to the ground with a chirp. Things can happen really fast when ya lose ya hook. Losing traction under acceleration can feel like you left the ground. I'm asking because you didn't say if ya was still on the gas when moving into the left lane.
Edit-- Because I was really wondering why car left the ground.

I was just out in the country cruising in the AMG SL once, prob doing 80-100 and hit an unexpected little hill with a dip on the other side. There were no other cars even in sight. I went airborne, but came down straight and true. tires chirped and exhaust hit the ground. Scary, but didnt do anything to it. Pretty sure my pulse went up for a while, lol. Pretty sure at the dip part I was prob a foot or two off the pavement.

I spun going 110+ I went over an 8"-10" curb and continued the 360s in the grass. Nothing was damaged and the alignment stayed true. I believe I went airborne when I flipped around backwards I only left one small black mark on the curb, My car is lowered and I don't know how I didn't flip it, kill myself and the passenger. I don't take people for "rides" anymore or use mismatched bald all season tires.
