NIFE is looking to expand some coverage and advertising of Fiero events around the U.S. We have quite a few members in various States of the U.S. (and overseas) who cannot attend our local events. In order to help them out we would like to offer them a chance to attend Fiero events that are closer to them. It will also allow them to check out other clubs as well (never hurts to join a few Fiero clubs.)
So we would like to know if other clubs or their members would like to advertise or brag about their local events. If you have an event coming up, we would like a little paragraph or two about the event. We do need it at least a few months (3-4) in advance as our Fiero Focus magazine comes out 6 times a year. (the earlier the better)
If you have been to a Fiero event and want to brag how great it was, Just Email us a paragraph or two of what you thought about the event. You can even supply a picture or two if you want.
You can send them to: NIFEboard@fierofocus.com
TIA

Good idea. Not sure if you are doing it or not, but a neat idea would be to also put out a yearly calendar of events. One might be able to plan a trip they were going to make at a time a Fiero event will take place. I know that actual cemented days/dates usually are decided closer to the happening but, a general idea could be good to know.

The next big event for the Georgia Fiero Club will be the Atlanta St. Patrick's Parade. We welcome all Fieros. This year's parade will be March 13th. There will be details on how to enter your car in our forum a few weeks before the Parade. We've been in the parade for several years, except the year before last, when the parade was canceled by a tornado.
The advertising part would be nice. The biggest events get plenty of publicity but all too often the smaller events don't get talked about until it's too late to make plans. I hope this takes off.-Ken

My point exactly. Every one here knows about Daytona and the major shows. All too often a message comes up on Tuesday, "Our _____________ (show, benefit, cruise, track day, what have you) is this weekend. You can't quite go in on Wednesday and drop the bomb that you won't be coming in for the rest of the week. A little advanced warning and attendance at some of these things might go up. It's also a shame that people are not taking advantage of the "Events" section that Cliff was so kind to give to us. I've missed a couple this year that I would have gone to but they got lost in the general chat shuffle and I didn't see them until it was too late.

But I disagree about the 'Events' section... you stick a notice in there, and you may have just as well tacked the notice to a rock on the moon. It is a ghost town, and events and notices get much more action in the General section.
edit--- oops, meant to add... to Oreif,
I will try to remember to send notices or event reviews for Texas regional events. Thanks NIFE for the offer. As the largest circulated Fiero magazine, it would be nice to read about some Fiero events outside your 'normal' home turf!

The other reason is we do have members who do not surf the internet and/or are not members of Pennock's. So they may not even know that there are events local to them.
Another thing I just thought of, Here at NIFE we do have Tech Meetings during the winter for local members. If your club also has monthly Tech meetings, Let us know and we can pass the word along as well.

What came first the chicken or the egg? If those with events don't post there the traffic will never come

Being pretty close to you... The Central Indiana Fiero Club is definitely interested. There was a Fall cruise 2009 that went superbly due to several PFF members. This is a great idea to increase communication.

We have some pretty good events out here in California. Most of our events are already covered in our website (GoldenGateFieros.org) but more coverage/advertising is always good.
Two "big" events that stand out (in my mind anyways) are the Coast Run that Dale runs (i.e. Songman) and our annual Westfest which comprises ALL the Fiero clubs in Ca.

That was my goal, to set up a worldwide site for all to list events, clubs and links to Fiero information. Not trying to hijack but "worldwidefieros.com" is up and running.
Sign up for a free account and list your events if you like or you can email them to me. When I find Fiero info I link it but that takes so much time.
Hi well I got fox valley fieros going and we try and do stuff every other weekend be it a few of us or a bigger plan, so far we are a small club and verry disorganized but we love it that way! usually our events are posted on our thread here or on our club site
I have been working with the manager of the Hooters in Appleton Wisconsin for a upcoming fiero car show on their property sometime this summer (2011) depending on intrest, He has promised me a full day using the lot and grass areas surrounding Hooters wich is located directly across the street from the biggest mall in Wisconsin the Fox River Mall. I will Keep you posted as this will be a free event for all fiero owners. This event is being hosted by Fox Valley Fieros as a fun event to meet other fiero owners from abroad and later in the day a few hour cruise together prob around 3pm ish till.... this is in first stages of planning. Also if more cars show up than the lot can handle, it is right next to a Walmart supercenter/strip mall with a large extra lot we can take over as well. Ill post more about this as summer gets near till then enjoy the snow everyone!!
Also to Nife leadership, if u would like to post your events on our site please feel free and any other club as well!
i will write up something for our watkins glen show for ya and send some pics when i get a little time ....this is a very good idea thanx for sharin jason and I are planning on makin it out to one of your events here in the near future.~Tom
