Just like it says, what setup do you have? Anyone running a straight-pipe setup? Exhaust cutout? Audio clips would be awesome too! Opinions on how loud it is at idle, WOT etc..

I will be copying this system for mine in progress. It has a round converter, and a two outlet muffler. I have a custom made muffler for mine from up there in Canada. Shuttleworth muffler company. 2.5's in and out.

I took out the bottom half of my trunk for it (wife always follows in the minivan so storage is not an issue) and I believe if I remember correctly it's a Dynomax Muffler with elbows of each side of the muffler out to the tips.

Sorry no sound clip (pictures of the cradle when I had it out the last time) - originally it barked way too loud when hard on the pedal (stock tips), so resonators were installed in a set of the new tips. Thinking of going with the Flowmaster 80 series in the future.

sounds good guru! May i ask why you had to do the little loop on the trunk side exhaust? I dont know anything about the mechanics of an exhaust system, but couldn't you have just come straight down instead of making the big Uturn

I wanted to balance out the lengths of the pipes as best I could and try to keep the sound as docile as possible w/o mufflers. This car will eventually get some mufflers and the rest of the exhaust, but those can't be installed until the rebody is complete.

Coming really fast. (barring an end of the world disaster. I had her pulled from one car, I have to repair a head gasket, and then she goes into another.
We were actually talking about my exhaust on MSN Chat, and silent brought this thread to my attention. There was a thread somewhere that had information on internal baffles. Anyone?

I don't have any pics or sound clips, but I'm running a Y-pipe, similar to the stock V6, into a 2.5" mandrel bent system. The cat is in the stock location. The pipe loops under the front of the pan, also in the stock location. It turns and feeds a glasspack that is (you guessed it) in the stock location. It exits on the left side, through a single C5 resonated dual tip.
It's pretty f'n loud. Never been stopped, though.

Can I have more information on that setup? And I believe your tags are expired.
Brad
That pic was taken before they expired. Got new ones now.
Goal was to replace the exhaust system for under 150 dollars. Before this I was still using a modified fiero muffler (inlet opened to 2.5"). Bought everything from summit racing....
The rest of the system consists of 92 deville manifolds and crossover pipe, and the caddy outlet pipe. The crossover was modified slightly to clear the getrag shift cables using pieces from the old crossover. The outlet pipe was trimmed back. The cat was essentially cut down and welded back together to fit the much smaller space I needed it to fit in (heat shields were added after this pic was taken). Both bricks of catalyst are still inside. Fiero exhaust hangers were reused. Cut, fit, weld, repeat until everything fit the way I wanted it to.
It sounds awesome. Deffinately louder, but well within legal limits. Proof of concept has been done. Now I can find the higher quality parts for a final design in a couple years. I love how much more room there is under the car and near the starter. That pic was taken with the camera on the ground. Its just showing how well those 3.5" diameter mufflers actually tuck in. From a normal position you can't even see them. That is an 88 cradle in an 85GT so I'm not sure how well they will work with pre 88 fieros.

Here's mine - 4 Auto Zone 2.25" 90's, 1 - 45, a couple 2.25 straight pieces and 2 slightly used 20.00 turbo mufflers. Got about 80.00 into the whole thing - sounds great!
