Just under 6 seconds. I'm hoping to drop that down a bit with larger tires. How you ask? The larger tires will allow a single gear run. If all goes according to plan it will be a 2nd gear launch 0-60 in just over 5 seconds. Manual trans of course.

That's an interesting point you bring up - a problem with some auto manufacturers.
They will sometimes adjust the gear ratios not to optimize overall acceleration, but to avoid a shift just before 60 MPH - so that the 0-60 spec in the brochure looks better.

ill clock my 0-60 sometime (nothing special, stock auto duke). seems it accelerates a LOT faster than i thought lol. turned out of the parking lot where i had my interview today, and went from 0 to 35 or 40 in the blink of an eye seemingly. and turned onto the highway near my house and went from 0 to 60 pretty quick. not 5 seconds quick lol, but what seemed like a lot less than 9 seconds

No idea what the 0-60 MPH time is but the 5-100 MPH time is 7.4 sec with a throttle stop at 3/4 throttle. Love to know what she would do at WOT and traction and a launch. Conserative, calculated estimate is 5.2 sec for 0 to100 MPH.

Damn that is fast a Bugatti veyron will do it in 1.8 seconds but doesn't do wheelies that is insane for a fiero.
Thanks And my 0-60 performance of 2.8 seconds is much closer to the Veyron than you might expect..
I am just curious where you heard the Veyron hits 60 in 1.8 sec? I always thought it hit 60 in 2.6 sec and had to look it up again and It seems performance tests vary from 2.46 to 2.8 sec to 60, and the 2.46 seconds time being the production car "record".. ""Bugatti Veyron is currently the fastest production car to reach 60 mph from a stop, reaching the speed in 2.46 seconds.[2]""
After 60 mph the Veyron completely destroys my performance #'s though.. But on another note, I could potentialy smoke an Enzo till about 130mph..
Whether a car does wheelies or not is more a question of its suspension geometry more than anything else, assuming sufficently sticky tires and enough torque.

About 17 sec. Top speed is around 78. Car is getting kinda tired Once I get the timing chains in the Explorer the Fiero is coming off the road for a complete tear down and rebuild, maybe.

according to this road test by Motorweek in 84, the automatic 85 GT did 0-60 in 9.3 sec and they say the 4 speed might be around a second faster...of course 25 years later, it might take a bit longer.
hmmm, my 85GT probably does 0-60 in right around 6.5 seconds. my 88 2m4 does around 10 seconds because I don't beat on it and shift it like a mad teenager...lol
my 1970 monte Carlo did 3.8 seconds 0-60 but then I sold it after getting my first fiero, a 1986 Red v6 SE fully option. I think it was a good change of pace
