Right now I work in the car business. As you know The times have not been kind to the car business. I am used to making a 6 figure income. but latley it is dwindeling down. Now a good sales person is going to be lucky to earn 40 to 50 k.I am tired of working 60 t0 70 hours a week. I have a side business (part owner of an emission station). Have a good friend who I worked with for a few years in the car business. He is now selling roofing and siding for homes. Making really good money. What I want to know does anyone have any experience in this field. What is your take. I have talked to my wife. We have not made a decision. I try to get all the info I can brfor I jump ship. We have two boys. So I need to do right by my family first. What are your thoughts. This is(PFF) my extended family. Thanks.

I don't have a lot of experience in this area, but are you talking direct sales to the end consumer, or selling to places like local lumber yards and the big box boys like Home Depot or Lowes? Either way, the housing industry is very spotty right now. Some areas are doing OK, but many areas are very bad. You might try posting this over in OT, as we tend to discuss this type of thing over there more often.
