Hey guys,
I just recently bought this 86 fiero Gt and I love it. Problem is my WIFE also loves it. She drives it everywhere and I am thinking I am gonna hafta get her one eventually. Well eventually happened today. I met a fellow and he told me he has a non running 86Gt fiero for sale. IT was a project car he lost interest in. Apparently it is in good shape but there is a problem. The car is an automatic. My wife wants a stickshift. Is it possible to convert the car to stick and ifso how hard would it be? Is it not even worth talking about or is it relatively easy swap. I am gonna be pulling the whole cradle out to put another engine I have in it so I would think that would make it a little easier anyway. any thoughts, anyone ever done this on here... thanks and peace...

The stick shift swap is fairly straight forward, but time consuming. Best to get a stick shift parts car, it's not the major parts that is the issue, but all the little stuff you never think about until you need them...

You're not too far from me. If you bring me all the parts to do the swap, 5 spd shifter, cables, tranny, etc, I will do the swap for you for $700. it's not a terribly difficult thing to do, just very time consuming. will take me the better part of a week to do.

SO it can be done then, I was not sure wether or not a fiero was born an automatic and a sitck fiero was born a stick fiero if you know what I mean. That is a decent offer for the work, unfortunately I will not be able to afford it after I buy the car and all the necessary parts so I am on my own. Besides I have no way to get it to Indianapolis that is for sure.... Any good tips on it tho? I am gonna go look at the car tomorrow and see what it needs. If it is everything he says it is I will most likely buy it as it has a clear title... It is also a red sunroof car just like mine. Wish it was tee top but thisll have to do... thanks guys and peace
