This is my version of the hard to find GM exhaust drill jig. It took me a long time to think up a way to make a reasonably priced copy.

This jig bolts on to the V-6 cylinder head and allows you to drill a hole in the exact center of a broken exhaust bolt/stud. The tapered Allen head screws included in the kit insure that the drill jig is perfectly centered on the cylinder head. If you are not successful using the stud extractor there are two more drill jig inserts. One insert can be used so you can drill the stud completely out and one to hold an 8 mm tap in perfect position to clean out the old steel from the removed bolt/stud. Care should be taken so that the 8 mm tap starts in the correct orientation so all you remove is the old steel from the broken bolt/stud. This may require you to use something like a scribe to remove the first few threads of the old stud to expose the threaded hole so the tap starts correctly.

Reusable. The small drill jig insert has a hardened insert in it. The two larger inserts do not and may show some wear after a few uses. I can sell replacements if needed.

I've only hear rumors of the GM jig... if I decide to rebuild my 2.8, I'll definitely be getting and using the hell out of this! Another great part from a great vendor! Thank you.
