Does anyone have pics of the T/A vents installed in their fenders? I have my car at the paint shop and I want to have some installed into my fenders. I want to show the body guy what the final product should look like so if anyone has a good pic of them installed I would appreciate seeing it posted on this thread so I can forward it on to the paint guy. Thanks
Dave

I ended the first installment of the history of my car at the end of the first show season. I ended up doing fairly well at the shows as my first show season progressed and the car evolved. After the last show and the PA Fiero gathering in the fall I started in earnest to finish a fender modification that I had started earlier that summer. While I was at a junkyard that summer, looking for hardware to build my removable rear window, I noticed a 80s Trans Am with non-functional front fender vents behind the front wheel. The vents are made of urethane that was mounted in a recessed steel fender. After looking at them I thought to myself hmmm I think I have a home for these. I got a scrap fender and tried it out to check if the contours would fit. It was almost perfect. Since the piece is also urethane I used urethane panel repair epoxy to bond the two pieces.
My intention was to make the fenders functional. I was going to vent the air pressure behind the radiator to these vents with ducts and cutting through the fender wall beside the headlights. But as fate would have it another project came up that changed those plans so I have not made the vents functional yet. I really dont like that since I sort of dislike non-functional vents. I may still make them functional. Here is a close-up after being painted.

damn you now i am looking for fender vents on ebay so far only seen one set the knight rider set. $300 so still looking I am thinking of not removing the panel to fix them if can get some and just using some rivots countersunked as much as possible and flush it out with filler. Or if poly eurothane use glue as recommended chances are mine will be glass as looking on a budget i see people pay over $1000 for 1 fender on some cars sheesh. If i have to i will make the whole thing. Looks like my build is going to take longer bugger.

I had a bit of a think and because of my flared guards i will have to go for something flush mounted. I am afraid of my car looking wrong as i don't have the room and it might just look too deep on my car i love this mod but i might bench the idea.
Perhaps GTO or M3 style would suit me better

i didnt see it in that thread...??? i am on a govt computer and it doesnt allow pictures to be shown from other picture sites like photobucket. imageshack works and so does pip for some reason. The 1 i was talkin about had like a wing symbol... reminded me of an aston martin car. the wing symbol was above the fender vent. it was red fiero too. i hope that makes it easy lol. post pics plz

We you said T/A vent I thought you meant the actual vents from a TransAm Firebird. I have thought about putting those on the rear quarter panels backwards to work as side scoops.
I don’t think there is room for those on the front fenders.
