Funny, I read one of those "10 Best Pontiacs of All Time" articles, I think it was on autoblog. And the Fiero was on there. Figured it would have been on the "worst" list.

The last Pontiac built will be in Sept and will be a plain old G6.
The cars will be sold through 2010 but they really do not have many left as they had already stopped production on most. The end will come soon and will be very quiet.

Is that Sept 2009 or Sept 2010? But I guess what I really wanted to know was when the company (division) will be considered closed and no longer in existence.

The death of Pontiac might be one of the best things ever to happen to the Fiero. In a few years people will only remember the good things from Pontiac and the Fiero will be remembered with a lot of nostalgia. It also won't be alone, as all Pontiacs will be orphans, its (the Fiero's, not Pontiac's) cancelling and the reasons for it won't matter as much.

The last 2010 Pontiac will be built in Sept 09.
The brand is set to be here till into 2010 but the end can come sooner if they run out of cars. I had heard there were not many left in inventory. GM has not stated an end date but said the end could come sooner if inventories dry up. Right now they are just trying to get rid of the cars.
THe bottom line I would be shocked if Pontiac makes it till March 2010.

It may create some interest but it will not help values. We have to be careful when we talk like this as some take it the worng way.
If you want a Pontiac at a good price right now and one that may increase in value. The best bet is any V8 Firebird or Trans AM from 1976 to the end. It will need to be in good condition. Also the GTO and G8 will be a car in demand. The V8 will not be very common in the future and all these cars will see increases in value.
What will hurt the Fiero yet is the rep, the high number of cars still around and fact it has two seats limits its appeal with many. We will have our day like the Corvair. We will not be scorned as we have in the past and will be better accepted. That is not too much to ask for.

I agree... Just for laughs I went to Pontiac.com and put in my zip code and there were NO cars of any type in my area....and that's in the 4th largest city in America. So I would say the Pontiac car line is already drying up pretty fast.

I had heard not long ago there were somthing like likr 158,000 Pontiacs left. With few to be built that may only last 6-8 nmonths. Keep in mind many of these are G6 going to fleet sales too.
