There is this show on MTV apparently called Fantasy Factory, where a bunch of skaters do some wild stuff, like build the worlds biggest skateboard and ride it around.
They had a skate contest to test their new scoring system, and they gathered a ton of bizarre prizes for the winners. The 1st place prize was a mega-clean 1986 Fiero GT! Here's the video of it... he acts like a dweeb when he gets into it though. I figured when they saw it, they'd crap all over it and make it into a joke, but I was pleasantly suprised!
What I thought was interresting was how the guy was reacting as he driving he could not help himself. The music choice during that segment was good too.

That's my take on it most of the time, jak. But the way I found this episode was from my gung-ho Trans Am pal who is that sort of "whats up brosef" kinda guy, and I guess he watches that show. So he was stoked to tell me about a clean version of my car on the show.

In 86 they DID make a notiche GT, and later the fastback. Rare(ish) but they do exist, I have seen one in person.
Yes they did make them, no flames please.
There are no 1986 "GT" VIN's before the 1986 fastback GT's. The 1986 SE used the notchback 1985 GT body. My thought would be that someone swapped the 1/4 windows with a 1985 GT.

ah no, it was an 86GT notchieback, I think I know enough about Fieros, I thought it was an 85 too, but I was corrected that it was an 86 GT. It was a GT an a 86 I checked the VIN for year, but didnt look at the rest of the VIN.

If it WAS an '86 Fiero GT, and it had a notchback roof, then it was swapped. The only "GT" made in 1986 was the fastback, and it was a mid-year release. This is historical fact.

That guy Rob has more money than God himself. He spends loot like crazy. I pretty much guarantee that the "Pontiac Excitement" on his face was real. Here is a guy that is used to Ferraris, Lambos, and young tight chics, but loving life in that 85 GT.

So when the owner of the car tells me in person that his GT is an 86, when I said "what is that an 85?" and he said it came that way. But I guess I must be here to lie to you all, and I must not trust my own eyes. BUT beleive what someone writes on a web page. and you all must be inside my head to know what I saw and heard from the owner of his car. BTW the car is in Reno.

Did you look at the VIN? So some guy says it's an 86 GT and you believe him just because it may have had silver trim on the bottom and "GT" on the quarter windows? I suggest the next time you see the car you write down the VIN. I bet you will find out that it is either a V-6 SE with GT quarter windows or a 1985 GT that he bought as an 85 left-over in 1986. VIN's don't lie. Here's a question, Was the interior the lighter gray or the darker gray?

Hmm, from the show it looked like the lighter gray interior.
Im not here to question the whole 85-86 thing, but Rob did say both of those years several times, I kept talking to the TV saying "what year is it really?"
That show and especially that episode were great, and this is like the 5th thread on it.
I bought a car that the owner said (many times) was an 86 GT that's what his Craigslist ad said and all. when I checked the VIN it was an 87GT had the engraved plenum and later lights and all so I knew he was wrong. It even had an 87 owners manual in the glove box. My point is that not all Fiero owners know what they actually have.
