Looks like it was stolen and the rims taken off. Wonder if the owner is looking for it. Did you get a VIN? Maybe someone can run it see what the story is. Much easier to offer the proper owner $100 for a clean title.

Hmmm, the cost of gas times the hours to drive from Phoenix, carry the 2, divide by the number of hours it'd take to track down the real owner and subtract the cost of a DIY towing trailer...
It's almost worth it.

The white notchie is gone, I've seen that one many times going down that hiway. This car was in remarkably good shape. No rust, a few salvagable interior parts and good body panels and trim. Even the taillights were better than most. It sits on a large piece of property, and there is a shop nearby. I'm pretty sure the owner could be chased down by knocking on a couple doors.

There is also a white notchie about 2 miles north of there on the west side of the road that has been sitting at least as long (someones back yard).

Went and found it today with intentions of saving it. I will upload more pics later. I got ahold of the realator selling the property to try and get in touch with the owner, He asked me why and I told him I was interested in the car left on the property. The R E Agent very abruptly told me that he wasnt interested in selling it and he was going to sell parts off it. This guy was a little cold to me, kinda pissed me off, Oh well I guess. If that poor car sits any longer there wont be much worth selling. The interior is TRASH, but all the body panels are savable so far. I'm still going to try to track down the owner by other means. I did get the VIN and the address, If anyone knows how to find the owner off the VIN let me know.......I'm still going to try !!!!!
just ask the Realtor for the address to say you want to look at the property or go online for property's for sale in the area that should get you a name if not a way to get to the person who owns the car.

This story reminds me of the local JY here. The owners dad pics what he wants when it comes in and he hauls it to his house which is right beside the JY and hordes them. He's had several great cars just sit and rot away due to his hording issue and no one knows why. He's also had and still has many muscle cars, classics, and euro's that are and have rusted into the ground.....he will not sell them.

Makes two of us....my first Fiero was a goldie that I bought new in 86. Kinda brought a tear to my eye. I hate seeing Fieros sitting abandoned. At one time, that was someone's dream car.
If it's been in Colorado its whole life, it will be rust free. Someone save it.

That poor car! I never have understood how people could just up and leave their cars in the middle of nowhere like that. Why wouldn't they sell it to someone who is obviously very interested in buying it? Seems like getting it off their property (and making some money!) would be a good thing.

I agree! It makes me ill to see good cars sit and rot. Especially when it's one I want. I know where there are at least 5 Fiero's here in El Paso that I have attempted to take home but the owners all have "plans" for them. But still they sit. Same with a few older Chevy's that I could put to use. One has a Mesquite bush about 6 foot around growing up through the bed and the owner tells me "oh, someday I am going to restore that old truck".

Once you track down the owner tell him how fieros catch on fire. Show him some pics of onfire fiero then tell him your only concerned about saving his life and any others that have fieros.
Who knows he might give you a few bucks to take it.

These situations really make me hate people. There is a guy near me that has at least ten fiero's in different states of disrepair. just sitting behind his barbershop. I asked if he would sell them and he said not a chance that he was going to restore all of them. His wife on the other hand wants them gone so I think when his old a** kicks it I will inquire again and probally get a killer deal.

That's how I got two Fiero's at the same time. One I drove home and the other I had to haul, but both cars ended up getting stripped and sent to the yard. His wife was on him pretty bad to get rid of them so he never got the title for the one that ran simply because there was a lot of paper trail to go through. I got them both for a $100 bill and the wife was happy to see me get them the next day. It's funny though, I never saw the guy and she took the money.
I saw this in a Merritt Island junk yard.. From what I understand the yard owner may be a wack job, so I didn't get any information on the car. Cell phone photo not very good.
