But I don't believe there are actually any Mera emblems viewable on the car shown in the pictures of that brochure. Also, interesting to note that the Mera pictured in the brochure has the real Carello Ferrari tail lights (as my 87 Mera does), and not the ford backup lights more commonly associated with the Mera. That brochure can also be seen by going to fiero.net, clicking on "showroom", then go to "mera sales brochure". Rodney's Mera article as well as another 2 page black & white sales ad are also viewable there as well. Of the Meras I own, none of them came with any original Mera emblems. I'd imagine that most all of the original Mera owners got rid of them to re-badge with Ferr. emblems, not really thinking much about the history or rarity of the Mera down the line.

does this work. submit post

There's no trick to it. Just copy and paste.

I don't hava a Mera but I do use wheel spacers on my XTC. 2.5 in the rear and 1.5 in the front. I agree that getting the correct wheels with the right offset is the best way to go but it can be astronomical to buy custom wheels. I did about 6 months of research on wheel spacers before I decided to use them. I purchased mine from a manufacturer in So. Cal. that makes them for offroad super trucks - 5000 lb - 800 Horse power - 30 foot of air getting 4 wheel drive race trucks. They beat these wheel apscers way more than my Fiero ever will. They brag about zero failures. I agree also that the larger the bolt pattern, the stronger the wheel spacer.

There are a few important things to look for in a wheel spacer to optimize the safety. First is to make sure they are concentric to the hub and then to the wheel you are going to use. This reduces the "shear" on the lugs. Second, and I believe most important is that some spacers are manufactured with recessed lugs. These are not good as this allows the stud to wobble should it get loose. The best spacers use the correct length stud that are flush with the back face of the spacer. Third is that you have to check the torque ocaisionally to make sure everyhing stays square. I have about 12k on a set now and have checked them several times. I have yet to find a loose stud. It was way cheaper than a custom set of wheels - I would really prefer to have the correct wheels as I think I could get a better fit/look but Money talks. I spent close to 300.00 for the spacers but after I got them, I found that PISA Corp will make the same style for around 220.00. There are some other manufacturer's out there that make them the correct way. You just have to do some research.

what do you say, Mike.
does Mera-Nsx not say that his 1987 Mera DID NOT have the FORD back-ups?
i bought this car.
anyway, Rodney states in my "Michigan Meras owners..." thread, that maybe the early Meras had no stickers and had no Back up lights. this would help in the on going evidence search for Mera identifiers. i am trying to figure out why your (Mera7) low GM VIN# is such a high Mera #. seems daffy. also trying to see if Rodney might devulge some of the Mera info he may have??? hopefully.
till then theres more, just not tonight. tommarrow. goodnite
