OK now I got some tax money left and I am thinking wheels are next. Already got fixed headlights, t-top kit, and stage 2 side scoops this year, so not much else to do.

I am struggling to figure out what I exactly need to order. All the wheel laces that will tell you what fits your car, do not have anything that I like, so gotta figure it out myself, since I can basically get any wheel on the planet in the 5x100 lug pattern. I am currently running 18x8 motegi mr7's with a 42mm offset. So far the TSW wheels are looking like what I want, or something very similar. I want a wheel with as big as lip as I can get with still staying within the stock wheel wells. Planning to run 18" fronts and 19" rears. Any help would be awesome on how I can figure out exactly what will fit correctly, so I don't have to order wheels and return them because of fitment issues.

Here's a idea on what I am looking at

what year do you have? '88's have to have a higher offset in the front otherwise the rims won't tuck in in the front and may stick out.

Edit: from your sig I am assuming you don't have an '88. I am not sure what offset you will go with, maybe 38mm or higher? It also depends on how wide you are going also.

It is interesting that no one on this forum uses the term "backspacing" It is so much easier than trying to figure out the metric system. Whenever I need wheels, I just say a 5" or 4" backspace and the order is complete.

Here is a photo to figure out spacing. You can measure out from your brake caliper face to the fender edge and subtract that distance from the width of your wheel to figure out the proper offset wheel. Here, the person is measuring the wheel offset to figure out how deep the wheel will sit in towards the car.

I just got thru the '88 wheel offset blues. For me it was difficult to find a wheel I liked that was available in the offset I needed. Using some of those wheel offset calculators such as at 1010tires I found I needed something like a +50mm offset for a 8" front wheel. A real pain.

I finally just had to settle. Good Luck.

I ordered my wheels yesterday, after being on the phone for over a hour with the guy at discount tire direct, I got it figured out. Spending $2400 for wheels for my fiero. I haven't done a brake upgrade yet, so it augot to be interesting when I finally do. Might have to reorder the new fronts when I do.
