Awhile back i got some car wax on the inside of my windshield when i used the wrong cloth to clean the windshield, now i find that it fogs up really fast, and has shiny streaks that are very distracting when i have to drive at night. What should i use to remove the wax? Ived tried windex, and water+vinegar, neither worked.
Dishsoap will be the best . Use a concentrated solution of dish soap in water. Or at last ressort mineral spirit ...but be carefull to put only on the windows and not drop anywhere else or il will smell for some time.
Windex is the most useless stuff for car windshield IMO.

Did you try using window cleaner with newspaper? The newspaper acts to polish the window while cleaning it with windex, etc...
I've no problems with windex on my windows, works great actually...Only product I have had problems doing windows with is those stupid Armor All window cleaning wipes that they sell...They are too damn wet and leave nothing but streaks behind.
The Norton Adhesive Remover is the stuff that takes off pretty much everything. You squirt some on a cloth and that wax will just disappear. The autobody shops use Norton for all types of finish cleanup for paint prep. As I said, it safely takes off pretty much everything.
Just to be contrarian though, Why not just wax the rest of the window? It won't hurt it. A good wax is supposed to eliminate most fog up. Maybe what you have on there is not just wax.
It works use the newspaper to clean the window here is another one to have your car paint job all shiney and popping out like Emeril Lagasse "BAM" tip a little kerosene oil in your soap water "BAM again kick it up a notch" and towel it dry
