I am going to be painting my car soon and can't decide on a paint color. If people could throw up some pictures that would be very helpful. Please use somewhat close up pictures so the color is clear. If there is another thread like this please let me know. Thanks

What I always tell people is to watch traffic. Sooner or later you will see something that catches your eye. Then all you have to do is remember what make and year it is. Go to the paint store and look it up. Never trust what a chip or pic on your computer looks like. Anyone I know that ever picked a color from a chip, was never fully satisfied with the result. Every one I showed my chip to for my Coronet thought it was green. After it was on the car, its definately yellow. I knew what it looked like because I saw it on a car at a show.

I am aware that color on the comp and from chips are not the true colors. Unfortunately where I live there are not many nice cars. I shouldn't say that because there are nice cars but they are black or gray BMW's, Mercedes, etc. and of course the rice burners, but i don't think I would classify that as nice though. I have always liked the look of blue with white racing stripes but can't decide if it would look good on the fiero, hence why im looking for ideas from peoples cars here.

imo flames and racing stripes on a sports car, touring car, family car. or basicly anything except for a muscle car or traditional hot rod is the same as the rice you speak of. doing that is like putting vinyl graghics on any iconic muscle car. dont do it. do something tasteful. stripes are tacky

The ford gt has racing stripes....just pointing that out. I really haven't seen any ricers with racing stripes, though I will admit it would look retarded on imports. Vinyl graphics are always distasteful.

I currently drive a 95 mustang gt convertible so I have the right to think about racing stripes :P. The only thing about stripes is they have to be the perfect size, perfect distance away from each other which depends on the vehicle. I thought this fiero looked pretty good https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum4/HTML/043030.html but your right, how nice a car looks is all opinions.

Some custom shops are not even painting cars anymore. There done bumper to bumper in vinyl wraps. So are Nascar cars now. They paint 1 or 2 main colors and thats it. Makes them really easy to redo at the track if they scrape a wall or another car in practice or qualifying. I had a dealer drop off a Honda that was wrapped in goofy graphics. I just used my heat gun and had the original paint back in a few hours.

Vinyl wraps make sense for nascar cars. I just think the vinyl flames and other stuff looks horrible because you notice they are there and not flush with the rest of the paint plus they don't usually look decent themselves. I have never heard of bumper to bumper wraps, just wondering if they would fade and be more expensive than paint.
