Hay motor heads.....whats this all about?
When I initally start my 87 GT in the morning, she has to crank for about 20 seconds to get the pressure up before it will start. I konw this by watching the oil pressure gauge. She's crank for a few seconds with the gauge dead, then when it jumps up to about 50 lbs, she'll start. One again, this takes about 20 seconds, maybe more. After this initial start up, it will start fine, as long as it doesn't sit for a number of hours. I guess once the oil works it way back into the pan, the same thing happens.
My 88 Formula, on the other hand, starts inatantly...
I'm concerned if this is a upcoming problem. I'm really getting the GT into tip top shape. It runs EXCELLENT once she's a warmed up, so I don't want any lube problems.

Sounds like your fuel pump relay may be iffy.

I agree! This sound like your Fuel pump relay. The fuel pump may not be kicking on until the car builds up oil pressure and the switch in the oil pressure gauge sender kicks the fuel pump on. To check this, go right behind your air cleaner on the firewall you will find 2 relays. Unplug them and switch them, one is your fuel pump relay the other is your AC relay they are both the same part. Now try and start your car cold and see if it starts faster. Or you can just buy a new relay and throw it in, instead of switching them. I just bought and new one at NAPA it was $8. Normally the fuel pump relay is the one on the right.

This does not sound like your going to have long term oil delivery problems. This sounds like a fuel delivery problem.

Thats what I thought when I was having the same problem, It happened on a Central Iowa Fieros cruise.
It wasn't the fuel pump, a cracked vacume line was the culpret, that time.
Next Cruise I had the same problem, this time the pump would start, TBI wouldn't squirt.
I tried soaking the Air filter with "heet', it fired, that raised the engine RPM, and oil pressure, to the point where the ECM would fire the TBI.
I'm by no means an expert on the ECM, but I can see where this might happen.

This is what I meant. I have edited my post to be more clear.
