well, i have started trying to fix my fieros problems, i got the oil leak fixed, it was o-ring on the distributor, i have now noticed that if i let my car idle for a little while the visible exhaust manifold glows red a little, i think the catalytic converter is getting stopped up. it looks to be original. the headlights work and raise up but there is a toggle switch that makes them go up and down, any body seen this type of engineering before, know what i need to do to get it back to factory, and last for the moment is the fan is not comeing on, i tested the fan moter and it works so my next step is the relay. (found it in front of the driver side headlight, what a great place for a relay, so easy to access and test BRILLIANT !!!)
if any body has any ideas i would appreciate it. also still dont know how to post pics, i really want to share this car. i love seeing curly and archies and jscotts cars in here. i sold a very nice 92 Z28 to get my fiero, i really think the potential is there for some great cars.

If your exhaust manifold is glowing your convertor is probobly plugged up. http://www.rodneydickman.com has great replacement convertors.

As for the fan: check your fuses, the relay, and the fan switch on the engine.

As for your headlight switch, how did they wire it up? Did they cut out the factory harness or just splice it in?

they spliced it in, the fan works when the a/c is on and the catalytic converter is coming off soon. to be replaced of course.
