Guys just a word of warning. The kits you are looking at having made might need a lot of molding work. I know the MR2 guys that buy those ebay kits always complain about fitment and molding. They basically mass produce a rough piece and then it has to be worked on for it to look good on the car.

This is not my car but the owner has 2 different style ebay front and back pieces. These pictures are after he put plenty of hours into making them fit as good as they do. I can't seem to find the before pictures but they did not look like they were even for the first gen MR2. I have also read plenty of second gen owners complain of even worse things.

Now I have seen the work you all put into your cars and I would hate to see you folks get nailed by one of these cheap kits. IMO you guys make much better looking custom pieces anyway. Maybe if you could get someone to supply some of these custom pieces to a molding place. Then maybe you can have some designs mass produced that you know will fit to near perfection. Just wanting you all to be forewarned from the MR2 perspective. Those ebay kits do not come ready to install without modification.

Miach,

Based on their prices I would have assumed what you said about their requiring some work. Thanks for the input.

That being said, you're throwing out words of warning when we don't have anything else to "work" with anyway. I'd be more than happy to spend some time adjusting if they build something for the prices they're selling others for...

I understand there is a very limited if any at all after market kits sets out there for Fiero's. But my idea was along more of the lines where some of the folks on here, that have created some very nice custom pieces, send those out to have molds made. This way you all could get a much better variety that will fit Fiero's better.

I just hate hearing the horror stories about those cheap kits then see others wanting to do the same thing. The reason I like this forum so much is because you guys can create some extremely nice things. Now since I'm going to be moving back to PA my Fiero hunt is on hold, but I can think of a few Fiero's on here that I would love to have mine look like.

Not to mention those MR2 kits just look so fake even on the MR2's.

I get you totally! I wasn't trying to say that you were out of line at all.

But...all we ever get when we talk about pulling molds from somebody's car on here is a discussion about how much that costs, etc. Unless one of them ponies up to send their car out to a place that will do it cheaper, we're stuck. Plus, a lot of this is left to taste and we need something that will appeal to as many people as possible which is tough too...

Yeah getting everyone to agree is a rather huge undertaking. I wish you the best of luck with you idea though. I can't wait to see some finished products, I know there will be some cool cars coming from all this.
