Go to a more modern 3400-3600 and start with that since they have a higher hp potential than the 2.8-3.4. I went to 60v6.com and asked how I could get 300hp N/A and I was given several suggestions without breaking the bank or transmission or CV axles. What was suggested to me was 3500 heads and intake with a 3400 block with 3.4 iron head pistons and that will give me 11.5:1 compression and atleast 300hp and not loose reliabillity. The 60v6 can be made to support more than 200hp but the 2.8-3.4 have iron heads that gimp its potential and the crank bearings need some machine work to make them more reliable at higher rpms. Now the other question is if you reach even 3/4 your goal what transmission your going to use and what power band are you trying to achieve because like it or not the transmission choices the Fiero have as far as manuals its kinda weak and for hard launching you will want the 4t65hd or a modified 4t60 but thats going the auto route. The next problem is the axles which can be custom ordered but its pricey but also worth it and you can have a really fast Fiero with 250hp and keeping weight in mind but you really have to focus on power to wieght to weight ratio because if you drop a 3800sc with a 4t65 and get about 300 hp out of it you will be running similar times to a 250-270hp 3400 with a getrag. If you could make it your self then do it because alot of shops or vendors will charge you more for a product that could do the job but not look or work the way you want.
