Technically you are hearing two tones blended together. It's more pleasing that way. The horn is the one thing the US cars got right. Most Japanese cars have ridiculous sounding horns.
On my car, I have C and F horns from a Cadillac. Problem is that the right side horn is not working. The horn is ok but doesn't work in the location. I've been putting off the repair, but, I suspect the mount to the frame is rusted and not conducting. I'll be taking it off and running a test for continuity and voltage. I expect it is an easy fix but not convenient.

i see two horns, one on the driver side & one on the psgr side...
i've only heard one tone.. 85 gt btw
You could have one bad horn. Have someone else beep while you listen from outside the car, first on one side, then the other. In any case I'd replace both of them. Dual horn sets are cheap at Autozone and similar stores.

On my '88 Formula, I only have the one in the drivers side in fender well. I've got the wheel wells all opened up right now... and if there is supposed to be one on the pax side... it is MIA.

The 88's (and maybe 87's) went to just one horn. I've seen it talked about in the threads where people are swapping to the 87/88 Gen 2 headlight motors, since the horns are on the same harness that runs up to the front. To keep both horns some modification is needed.

Yes the second horn is in the same location on the passenger side.

Thanks to the "Horn Upgrade" thread started by RWDPLZ (accessible via this link: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/083122.html ), I too replaced my Fiero's two old horns with brand-new DeLorean horns, and I'm still pleased with their better sound, and the fact that their installation was ridiculously easy.
In short, there are now at least two Fieros out there running brand-new DeLorean horns, of all things --- one having a high tone and one having a low tone. If you're interested in replacing your Fiero's horns with brand-new DeLorean horns, where to buy them (also easy, like their installation), and how RWDPLZ came up with this unusual idea in the first place --- not exactly what you might call a "top-of-mind" one --- also are in the Pennock's link I've highlighted above.
OHNIKO, since you stated you already have two horns, installation of the DeLorean horns on your car should be every bit as easy as it was on my `86 GT, which also had two horns, and still does with the DeLoreans.

Since my spare tire area was no longer useable as originally intended by GM (I've installed 'vette brakes so the spare wheel will no longer go on the hub), I figured out something for that space, hehehehe. The 4 horn system is installed to fire downward into the ground. I drilled many 1/2 inch holes in the bottom of the spare tire floor cover area for the sound to hit the pavement.
thanks all & some interesting set ups. Yes, i suspect my psgr side horn is not working then, but the driiver side is honkin strong. Godd suggestions & link too.
cheers!

My horn was working intermitently, I'd have to turn the car off to get it to work again, or remove the fuse and put it back... which leads me to believe that it might be a relay issue? I'm replqacing the stock horn with a Fram. The first thing I noticed when I tried to replace it was it didn't work, no power, which again makes me think that the relay might be bad. Sooo... where is it? I have one that came with the Fram now to figure out where it goes.

Correct, the 88's had only one horn, 84-87 had two. Like you said, I found that out when I swapped the Gen 2 headlights into my 86. I originally had an 88 harness, and it only had wiring for the driver side horn. I modified the harness to accommodate the passenger side horn, but since that harness wasn't in great shape, I eventually swapped it with one in better condition from an 87.

Arn, I did the same thing and picked up a couple of Cadillac horns out of an 88 DeVille at the local u-pick for $10. I figure they have to be beefier than what's in there now but I have no idea how to hook them up. On my list for the spring, maybe you can give me some pointers?
To F-I-E-R-O: The horn relay is underneath the dash, on the passenger side. It's the little white plastic box next to the convenience center (aka blue dingy thingy). When you push the horn button, you should be able to hear the relay click, if you're listening closely.

Ya, one is high and one is low pitched. Usually 2 separate ones, but I have seen some that combine both horns into one unit. On the subject, anyone have a 'beep..beep' roadrunner horn they dont want. I need one for my Coronet.
