...from experience, it will not be 'bolt in'. Jscott1's harness may make your life easier, but there is still a fair amount needed to be done. The airbox is the biggest hurdle in my opinion...

Anyways, good luck

Hey, let's not keep this TOO private , what all does your kit entail, Jscott1? Links to threads/pics? my 87 GT's interior is "tired" as well, and I'd like to see the airbox issue up close.

1986 Fiero SE 2M6, gold

Still looking for that perfect CJB 88 GT...

I have a complete Firebird dash, with air box, gauges, and trim; from a '96.
I also have leather door panels from a 2001, and a 150mph gauge set from
a 2001 TA, and the console.

I've decided to go a different route with my car, so I am willing to sell it all.

Here is the 'de-facto" thread on Firebird dashes...there are several build-ups in there for the do-it-yourselfer

https://www.fiero.nl/forum/F.../HTML/023174-19.html

If you are looking for a bolt-in solution, no one, including myself, yet offers that.

But if the electrical part has you scared, I offer a kit that can handle the electrical part of the conversion. It includes the gauge cluster, headlight switch, trunk popper and speedomter buffer along with all the proper connections to made to stock Fiero wiring without cutting anything, for $399.

One of my customers built this interior with my harness

This is the harness:

Not trying to rain on your parade, but that 2001 cluster won't work with a Fiero, it needs the serial bus from the 99+ Firebird in order to function.

The 93-97 are the only clusters that are 100% compatible with the Fiero. The 98 will work with some modification to the circuitry and replacement of the gas gauge.

jscott1, is this something you do in your spare time or do you have a couple of them around ready to sell? Just curios.

I have some other stuff I need to take care of first but I'm really interested in doing that dash swap. Your wiring harness will surely make everything alot easier.

Thanks jscott and everyone for the info. I have not yet decided which dash I will go with for sure and will be some time. But I will keep you in mind if I do want to go that way I will let you know main reason is my friends is gutting his 97 TA to exchange for a black trim (was brown) so i could have the parts for free or damn close.

This is something I do in my spare time. I don't have a lot of that, so I haven't been advertising this capability. But there have been a few persistent individuals that wanted me to help them with a Firebird dash and I have built 6 harnesses so far, (none for my own car yet ). If you wanted one I could get it to you in a matter of a few weeks.

Just wanted to know if you had some in stock or if you did this as a request.

Right now I'm looking at replacing my brakes and then after that christmas will be coming up and I won't be able to spend any more money on my fiero till about the new year. After I find the firebird dash I will be looking you up on the forum for a wiring harness.

Thanks,
