I wish I saw this thread sooner when bmaxbox was selling these https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum4/HTML/038923.html The more I look the more I like I noticed Fierofreak00 saw them at JC Whitney so I searched there and came up with this http://www.jcwhitney.com/au...10000023182110359931 but noticed they do not include 88's and says (exc. GT). If they mean fastback models does anyone know why they wouldn't fit/work? Are there any other vendors that sell these louvres? Thanks for some input! Marc

are you trying to find louvers for a notchback or fastback? The notchie ouvers just cover the window. The fastback ones cover the rear decklid and rest on the fastback portion of the rear. The fastback louvers are very rare and hard to find. It took me a long time to find mine and they weren't cheap. Dave

Thanks for the info Dave. I didn't know there two different sets. I like the set that just cover the rear window but I have an 88GT and I don't understand why the notchie set wouldn't work on a fastback Fiero. The rear windows are the same! When looking at the pic bmaxbox posted in his thread they don't look like they would have any probs fitting?

Thanks for the pic. That looks nice but I still want the kind that just go across the back window. The more I look at the pic the more I like and ask myself...."self, why wouldn't these louvres fit a fastback??"

True...or just send them back. I sent a pm to bmaxbox asking if he got that set from JC Whitney and if he thinks they'd fit a fastback. I'll wait for his response. Thanks for your help Dave.

Bump....because now JC Whitney has got me confused. When I do a search for a rear louver for a Fiero this link claims it will fit a 84-87 Fiero except GT and bmwguru has a picture above attached to a fastback! http://www.jcwhitney.com/au...10000023182110359931 but....it's not the kind of louver I want to purchase. I want the louvers that bmaxbox sold in this thread https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum4/HTML/038923.html The louvers 2nd down in this thread look like the set bmaxbox had but Fiero isn't included in the year/make/model. http://www.jcwhitney.com/au...u=rear+window+louver I ordered the catalog...maybe that will help clear this up but if anyone has any info please chime in! Thanks, Marc

the top link looks like a third generation Camaro set. My set is made by Hammond, but they discontinued them back in the 1990's. I don't think the catalog pictures always match the actual product. I've ordered only one thing from JC Whitney and I felt like I was dealing with the bottom of the genepool when I ordered from them. I asked for my item to be shipped via Fedex or UPS ground or 2nd day air. They said it was too big. I told them I shipped bigger stuff that way and this item wasn't that big. After realizing I wasn't getting anywhere, I told them to ship it however they wanted. UPS dropped it off three days later. Dave

Try this one http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/AST1159.htm but to me now that I look to the one I just got ,to why it wouldn,d fit the GT may be because of the defrent cround going toward of the back window ,it may fit but would need problely some triming, thats my only guess ,, But I will ask a freind of mine if its ok to try it on his to see later on .when I go back to see him sometime ..sorry can,t help you more on this as for now
..Rob

I have seen even better looking louvres on PFF before than these ones for the GT. With the louvres running down to match rear pillars and is on a hinge so it goes up with deck lid. This is the kind i want.
The plastic ones from jcwhitney will only fit the notchback. One would think that if they fit the notchback that they would also fit the fastback, but they don't. This was explained to my from a member of the Mn. fiero club. He has had several sets of these and they do NOT fit the fastback. I asked twice!!
I remember back when I had my 84 Fiero(84-87)...I got a Fiero accessory catalog in the mail that sold a set of aluminum louvers for a notch that hinged at the top of the windshield and followed the contour of the side panels down. They didn't touch the back glass. They raised up when the deck lid was raised. I wish I could find a set of these.I am going to get another notch in the future, and would love to put a set of them on it.

Did he say what keeps them from fitting?Aren't the rear windows the same?

I may have figured today why thay will not fit a fastback after doing some measuring. The bottom of the window is 57 inches across and the fastback clip across is only 49 inches. I took a diagonal measurement as well and from the bottom corner of the window across to the opposite side of the clip is 57 inches. Too tight to get the set in there I wonder if there would be a way to two piece it in there without it looking hack?

I have seen them too. I like them but I think they make our Fieros try to look like a Firebird a little too much. I really like the set that just goes along the back window. I may get a set and try to fabricate them.

That is the set I have and Kameo Kid has. They are hinged to go up with the decklid. Dave
