I am thinking of upgrading the stereo in my 88 GT. I will prolly go with a single ten on the passenger side dash. My question is that I have a 1600W Kenwood amp that came out of my Avalanche, This seems to be WAY too much power for a single 10. I ran 4 12's with it and it pounded. What should I look for in another amp? I would like to have it mounted behind the passenger seat. Do you think I could get a decent amp and sub in trade for this Kenwood? It's a KAC-X8100 eXcelon.
Any help would be great!

I have a 600W to a 10" sub in the center console.

I'm running a JBL 75w mono amp that I bough off of our local online classified site for $50,and a Q Logic 8" sub that I got from a buddy that runs a computer store that set me back $10.

The sub is mounted in a box under the passenger side of the dash.The amp is mounted behind my drivers seat.

I think it sounds pretty good...for what it is.

Sure...I got them from another thread on this forum.
I wish I knew who they originated from so I could give them proper credit.

I've got a 400w Clarion running 200w to a 8" RF Punch and the other 200w to the two dash speakers. The sub is mounted under the passenger dash as you can see here and the amp mounted to the wall behind the passenger seat.

I have a 12" behind the drivers seat. It is a nice back massager
