Has anybody done 22"s on the back of a fiero before? I'm just eyeing it up at the shop right now with a 22x8" wheel beside my 18x8 on the back. Looks like with a 25 series tire it would fit..... I've got coilovers in the back right now and the rear is basically slammed with about 3/4" gap between the current tire and the fender lip. I'd have to adjust the coilover up slightly for a not so significant drop, but I think it would go.....

I thought the choptop Archie did for troyboy were 22" but I am not sure. Madcurl would be the other person to have tried it if anyone else has.

Me, I'm poor and 17" look good enough for me.

It's all about preference, but I have ridden in Curly's car with 20s on the back and those rubber bands they call tires. No way I would want any less rubber than what he has. If for no other reason, just because there is zero protection for the expensive wheels that come in those sizes. Besides, maybe I'm just old but you'd think there has to come a point where the wheels just start looking stupid being that big. I saw a Malibu the other day with 22s on it. It looked like it was trying to be a 4x4 and was totally ridiculous looking. But it is all about what the owner wants I guess.

I think Madcurl has tried 22's and it was a little much for even him. Unless you have modified the body significantly, there isn't enough room for a respectable amount of tire with 22s.

I 'think' Curly has a 25 series tire already on his 20"s... 25 series is the lowest profile they make, so with a 22" it would still have very close to the same amound of sidewall that a 20" would have.

This is almost true... If you start with 25 series 20"s, then the 25 series 22"s at the same widths will have the same amount of sidewall.

However, a 265/35/20 can fit on the back of a stock 88 and still have a decent amount of sidewall for a comfortable ride... sidewall height = 3.65 inches with an overall diameter of 27.3 inches

If you went to a 265/25/22, the overall diameter would acually be less, 27.21 inches, so it would fit nicely, but the sidewall would shrink to 2.6 inches. A noticeable change.

I don't remember the width of Madcurl's tires, but knowing him they are the widest possible and his sidewall is greater than what I showed for a 265. But a narrow 22" would easily fit, but what's the point in that?

I thought Madcurl's "dub senses" would have been tingling by now.

no way for me. my wife has the 20's off her impala now 'cause one got low from a nail, but before she realised it, the tire was cut when she hit a bump. not repairable, and too expensive to be risking like that for me. especially when i consider i'll need an even lower profile than she has. i'll be stopping at 17".
