Hello everyone, Im new to PFF, and would like to take the time to introduce myself, my name is Scott and I live in Des Moines,Iowa. I have been reading ALOT of the posts on here for about a month or so, since I have just purchased my first Fiero, an 87 GT. And Im starting to realize not only the potential this car has, but how rare the 87 Gt is here in Des Moines, only seen 2 others and to find any 87 Gt's or the 2.8 engine at the junkyard is rare. Although I did see alot of Nothchies there! lol =P But I took my time in joining to read through and see if what I was looking for would be here, and I found what I was looking for, alot of great ideas and threads, cant wait to do a V 8 conversion!
Thanks, Im glad to be here, Unfortunatley,(SP) I dont have access to a digital camera, butI can to you about her, lol. I bought the car 1 month ago, after driving by it for a year, and as soon as I seen it I knew I had to have her. At the time I was driving a 93 Ford Probe, that I used and abused as The syncros were bad,and it was in need of a serious overhaul, but what do you expect for $600.00??
As the odmoeter tripped 150k, i knew she was almost out of breath, so I saved a few weeks and finally went and bought the Fiero, payed 900.00 for her and she came with American Racing Esterllas wrapped with Cooper rubber, after inspection, I noticed she had been spraycanned the yellow coller and that in certain spots I could see the factory dark blue metalliac.
After talking to the owner he had not been driving her for except the few journeys he had taken instate every 10 months or so, otherwise she sat under an oak tree, when i got to drivin her she would die at any intersection that was busy...lol, so I began to due a tune up which led me to a Mechanic, as the engine had shot a rod, lost oil pressure and began making a hidious noise,so I have just ordered an remanufactured engine from engines direct from ebay that set me back 1100.00, and I will begin the task of rebuilding the old one as well. But as soon as i get enuf money,(searching my pockets for loose change!), ill get a digital and start posting pics!

Welcome to the forum. Open up that wallet cause these little cars we love so much are very addictive. You start 1 little project and the next thing you know... the "whole" car is being re-done or modified.
------------------ My best advice when it comes to your Fiero is to "NOT" do any dealings with www.kitcarman.com
Welcome to the addiction from a fellow Iowan!! There is a Fiero group in the Des Moines area, not really a club but more just guys that like to get together once in a while.
Heartland Fieros here in Eastern Iowa is tetnativley planning a get together July 21st at the Vinton Cruise In, I can send more info as soon as I get it.
