Forget what post I was going to put a picture of this in, so I started a new one. Couldn't get the dang shadows to cooperate, so this is the best I was able to take. I had the seat "set" in there, was looking to see how hard it would be to make brackets... A few things:

1. Seat is actually *lower* in the front than the Fiero seats. Would need to make a 2" tall bracket to angle it like the stock ones.
2. Seat height adjuster (raises back of seat) somewhat impacts E-brake handle...
3. Seat hinge / spring mechanism digs into rear / side grey plastic trim panel. (the speaker one, down by the vent holes)
4. Looking over your left shoulder out the back window becomes impossible. The seat pretty much fills the entire veiw. You can swivel your neck around and down to look out the hole in the headrest, but you'd probably get killed doing that on a daily basis.
5. Access to the gas release becomes difficult if you have the seat all the way back.

Other than all that... I really like the look of the seat, and find it very comfortable. I'm not sure yet if I want to go ahead with it, at least not with this car. (70k mile '88 coupe, kind of want to keep it somewhat stock for resale value) I may try and modify a set of Fiero seat frames to take these seat bottoms and backs (would take welding) instead of mounting these directly, as you really don't need the height adjustment (although the short girlfriend would like it!).. Anyway.. Just some pictures in case anyone's wondering. (sorry for the lack of professional photography!)

Is that a stock Celica seat ? I have had a few Celicas. Not one I have seen.
My Fiero opinion is that it looks too tall. Maybe a two inch front riser would make it look better.
Interesting. Thanks for posting. Plus at 'cha.

Yep, it's stock from an '01. I bought them to install in my '07 tC, and I especially paid more for those ones because of the color. It's almost a perfect match for the paint on the Scion.. I've only seen 3 or 4 red ones like that - these ones that were on eBay, a set at a junkyard in Maine, and 2 at used car dealerships. All of them I think were red cars. (at least the ones at the dealerships were) I went down and visited one pretending to want to buy the car so I could check out the color in person... It's a really nice maroon color because of the way the black "netting" is overlaid on the reddish fabric. Problem is they're about 4"-6" lower than the tC seats, so I never made the huge brackets to install them.. That and the tC seats have weight and position sensors in them to tell the airbags how hard to go off, which I would have had to take apart... They are a tiny bit big for the Fiero I think.. (with the seat height knob all the way "up", my head hits the headliner, and I'm only like 5'7"!) Also with the hinge / spring hardware in the corner hitting the trim panel, you wouldn't be able to get the stock plastic cover back onto the seat right there. It may be possible to shift it over slightly more towards the tunnel, if it were raised up in the front. (the floor area where the track lands is curved there because of the center console, so up would = more to the center as well...) I may revisit them in the future, but yeah I kind of don't want to mess up this interior too much. It's much too nice! Even the plastic skeleton under the console is perfect, not a single crack that I saw... I've got to post a picture of the radio trim plate I made too, it looks incredible! It's really simliar to the Fiero ones on humount.com, but the radio is centered and the lightup "Fiero" is at the bottom. I really like that guy's stuff but it would have been like $80+..
