Any one catch the first episode?

I watched it. I can't beleive that kid turned down a sponsor. What an idiot. Did he make it past the cut?

I know, no one TURNS DOWN a sponsor. Whats with the christmas tree ornament in his ears. After hearing him and his crew chief talk to sponsors, I immediately thought of Tom Cruise in Days of Thunder. Arrogant, self centered know it all. He cant race in the first race without one. I especially like the interview with the shoe sponsor about how he likes to go without socks, wore a suit jacket with his work clothes and a worn out baseball cap.

so far - no - he has not made it. but, by the previews, looks like he gets a last minute sponser to save his day.....
