I was thinking the other day, since the fiero can be driven without the body has anyone taken a bare frame cleaned it up, and turned it into a Weekend racer?

I plan to make one someday.

I don't know about the race car part but there was a Chicago based "naked" Fiero a few years ago. You can drive a Fiero without the body panels. Ugly, but doable.

I always thought if you stripped it, Cleaned it up (cut unused tabs atripped EVERYTHING that wasnt needed), and weld up some sheetmetal in certain places, it would look pretty cool.

Also slamming it and adding sticky lo-pro rubber. It would make a pretty sweet, capable racecar.

What i'd like to do one day is build a tube frame fiero that will bolt up all the original body panels. That way it'll look just like a fiero but can accept any drivetrain you want. Most likely if i ever get around to this project i'll op for the LS6/7 and the porsche transaxle. Pretty much like an ultima GTR except it looks like a fiero. RRunners IMSA would pretty much be it

I am thinking about the movie "The Road Warrior"! lol....

I know when I had mine painted, I removed all but the roof panel and drove it to the paint shop. They painted all panels off the car.
