Ok, I did a quick search and didn't find much on this topic. I have nice Fiero floor mats but on the drivers side its always bunching up. It doesn't get in the way of the pedals suprisingly, but I would like to get it to stop doing this. Suggestions please.

thanks

The originals were velcro'd down in my car. However, I bought brand new mats from Advance Auto Parts, which work perfect with no bunching. They're the thicker rubber gray "truck mats", and they fit perfectly with the amount of room in the foot wells. The thickness (and weight) of the rubber material really keeps them from bunching.

just go to the nearest dollar tree or craft store and buy some velcro all you have to do is peel and stick and that should help -daniel

My 86GT still has the stock mats in near perfect shape. they have a strip of the plastic fingers of the velcro attached at the end of the mat closest to the seat. They attach to the carpet quite well. this keeps them from moving. you can hand sew some strips onto newer mats to do the same thing. Dont try any sticky strips or the glue (unless you use epoxy) as it will not last or work long.

I had a scary incident at rather high speeds where the gas pedal got stuck at WOT because of the floor mat... Since then I havn't really used floor mats except for in the winter when they are needed....

I put holes in mine and bolted them to the seats. No more loose mats.

oh and my gas pedal broke off ages ago, so there is less for it to get stuck under. If anyone wants to send me a decent gas pedal it would be appreciated.

It's kinda strange because I drive the car just fine, my foot never has a problem finding the pedal or slipping off or anything like that. I just don't have the rubber pedal, and if anyone else ever drove the car it might be strange/weird/bad for them.

I know what you mean about the gas pedal ..... I had a 65 mustang that I drove for 20+ years that never had the pedal, just the lever it was supposed to attach to ... never phased me a bit

What about the Fiero store "Fiero" mats
they have spikes on the bottom and they bunch ALL the time, no place to put velcro.
any ideas on how to stop this?
