Hi everybody...a long time back I remember seeing photos on some Fiero site of rear window louvers for Fiero notchbacks. These louvers rested on the rear body pillar that loops round the back window. They DID NOT rest flush against the glass window. Kinda resembled the look of the Boss Mustangs. Is anybody familuar with what I'm talking about? Or can anyone direct me to a web-site on these. I'm seriously thinking on having some made, but i need photos. If any of you are familuar with what I'm talking about, I'd appreciate it very much if you could post some pictures or any information on this. Thanks....Bob

The louvers in the "Fierosails" site are the ones. Thanks you guys who forwarded me the site. Where in the world did these come from? I had a '70Mustang once, with the factory louvers. They were made of heavy gauge aluminum, and were high quality and very sturdy. I'm imagining these are the same. The ones on the JC Whitney site are probably made of flimsy plastic, even though they resemble the ones on the Formula. (ZMC,thanks for the site anyway) . I'd really like to have some of these made up, and may know someone who can fabricate them. Out of the many many pictures I've seen on all these Fiero sites, this is the only photo I ever saw showin' a Fiero with louvers. So where'd they come from?

As for a comment above, anybody can tell someone else to use the search engine. If you want to help someone, post a link or picture, don't tell them to do a search. That is rude and not very helpful. I also think you can get something similar from www.jcwhitney.com check out this link

Since the guy only had 19 posts, I figured he might not be aware of the SEARCH feature AND, even if he was, might not know if there is info is in the archives regarding louvers. There is more info in there than I would post, would not duplicate posting pics already there and waste Cliff's space, and most people wouldn't expect or wanna wait for someone else to "spoon-feed it" to them anyway - why don't you keep on topic and keep your OWN RUDE comments to yourself (since you didn't make it onto the moderator list).
Gee, NO ONE would have thought to check out JC Whitney on their own, so thank YOU Mr. Helpful ....

Not that this helps you in any way but I remember that there were a lot of 240Z's running around with the aluminum louvres too. Must have been a factory option because a saw quite a few out there.
I for one am curious as to how they would make it work on a Fiero other than having it move with the decklid.

Kit - i don't think there any other way to make the louvers because the top attaches to the roof and the bottom attaches to the deck lid. Somehow the bottom of the louvers have to accomodate the deck lid moving up and down without hitting the roof / rear window. I've always thought the GT would look Super with louvers (like the Lotus Esprit had) but I've never seen louvers for anything except the notchbacks.

Paul...I imagine the louvers would be hinged on the top,so your could lift them up in order to open the rear decklid. This design would also be necessary to be able to clean the rear window. Thats how it was on my Mustang.

DAMN ..... that's Niiiiiiiiiiice ... . Where did you get those ?! All the links I've seen say "not for GT", but it doesn look like they'd be hard to make.
I might have to buy a GT just so I can have a car that looks like that .....
The guy was asking for louvers for a "notchback", the only place I know that sells these right now is JC Whitney, so that is the information I contributed. At least I was able to contribute some usefull and pertinent information. I don't consider that being rude, but telling someone to do a search and not giving any useful information I DO consider rude.

GT Louvers have been on Ebay every now and then ---going rate $500 I had the chance to buy, but turned them down. It was not even a complete kit. some pieces were missing.
ok so it doesn't have to be asked in a new thread, does any one have a source for a gt version of these like what Kameo has?
They are old and no longer offered.
The ones on his car have been on for years and were in place by the guy who originally put the car together.
E bay or swap meets may be your best bet.
Louvers were rare even back in the 80's. Most people drove their cars daily and did not want to fool with moving them every time to get into the trunk.
Even more rare are good louvers as many were cheap or ugly. This set here are the best on the fastback I have seen and the Mr Gasket set in Aluminum were the best I have seen for the coupe.
On the other hand I have seen some really bad plastic ones I would not put on a John Deere.
So be careful before you buy.

I got a set of JC Whitney louvers for the notchback. These are the type that mount flush up against the rear window. Never used, still in the box. Anybody want them, I sell them cheap.
