I'm thinking about replacing my battered and tired exhaust on my 88 GT 3.4 (12 valve) conversion and now I'm concerned. When I ordered my catalytic converter, I bought the 2 1/4 " inlet/outlet converter to slide over the cut off ends of the old converter(I made some cuts perpendicular to the outlet and inlet so that it would clamp on reasonably well. When I went to the Fieor Store site. the Ocelot system is listed at 2". Is this the actual OEM diameter, or is it smaller? I'm thinking that 2" is OEM??? If it is OEM, do any of you have any recommendations for an exhaust system(stainless steel-as in Borla- is a little pricey for me)? Is there anything wrong with sticking to a used OEM system?

You could have one made like mine but it's a 3" and too big for a stock 3.4. 2.5" would be about right All mandrel bent pipe, hooker tips and flowtech muffler.

The Flowtech muffler PN BIG-50363FLT looks great. I have one sitting here for my next project. Other than a Spintek and WCF modified Flowmaster, it's the only one that's sized to fit the Fiero. It's funny how it's only listed for the Camaro/Firebird. That's probably because it's a 3" inlet.

I agree that the 2.5" is a better match. I made my own with mandrell bent Walker pipe and a Magnaflow muffler.
The mandrell bent pieces included (1) J piece, and a few 4" 90* bends. Definitely cheaper than a pre-made system, but you have to have either brazing or welding available.

Well the parts cost about $100 for piping and $50 for one muffler. As you can see I have two mufflers and it's still not quiet. If you cut all your piping and have someone weld it, you'd save some money. You could use your old as a template. The Hooker tips are rather pricey, I took them off my old system, which was a 2". When I changed to a bigger pipe I gain almost a full sec. on my 1/4 mile time. Hope this helps
