An update to this archived thread:
https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Archives/Archive-000001/HTML/20060811-2-072842.htmlI decided to bring the car home to work on. A buddy of mine and I drove 600 miles this past weekend out of state to trailer my Formula home. I didn't do anything with the car yesterday other than admire how much corrosion covers everything. Two years in storage in Michigan did all of it. Amazing.
Fast forward to today. Armed with new battery cables and new 900 amp battery (the highest amp battery I could find) I replaced the cables and installed the new battery and keys in the ignition. It fired up first revolution with not the slightest hesitation. It ran like crap the first 30 seconds, distributor wailing away, but everything settled down after a half minute. No waterpump or alternator at the moment as the alt is seized solid and a new one is on order.
Last time the engine was started was 07/17/2004. I found the receipt for the fuel stabilizer I bought the day I parked it.
On the road to recovery.
