i went back and found this thread, 'cause i had seen a corvette install on horsepower tv this weekend...

https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Archives/Archive-000001/HTML/20050818-2-059752.html

the thing i'm wondering is, would the lag problem some people expect still apply since the exhaust is never really that far from the engine with it winding under it and faily short even if straitened out?. seems like it would come off better than a normal sts install, especially on the boost side 'cause the pipe from the turbo back to the intake still wouldn't be very long, and if you replaced maybe the cat instaed niether side would be long at all.

just wondering.

I imagine it is more a matter of terminology when applying this idea to a fiero. Because of the very short exhaust track, could you ever really call it a remote turbo install? But there are more problems with the design than just the lag(placement, oil lines, being below the car, space under a fiero), I think you might as well just do a conventional plan.

There is another thread on this system that I just replied to. The kit includes basically nothing but a turbo (very necessary for a turbo kit) and misc parts. What you expect in a good kit is all the necessary custom parts, which this kit does not include, but suggests that you find someone to make them for you. The Fiero is a very easy engine to turbo, lots of room under the hood. (Thinking that you are doing a 2.8, 3.1, or 3.4.) Do think that you can not do it, some mild fabricating.
