how cool is that... i just called the St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau at 800-777-4373 to request a map (cause i've gotten lost every year i've gone) and since i am staying in a hotel in St. Charles, there will be a "free gift" waiting for me at the hotel.
i just wanted them to mail me a stinking map. but a "gift" will be cool too.
PS, best western still had rooms at 80-something per night.

Not much really. I'm hoping like heck that Ken Hines get my euro panel to Archies' by next week. Archie already has my '82 vette lamps (and a whak of Cigars I ordered from Corona Cigars in Orlando) and I'm trying to contact ChopTop (he's in Lansing) to see if he is still selling his leather seats. His email on profile isn't any good. If I can manage everything then I might have leather (oem) and a replacement to my tail light assembly.
If anyone has a phone number for ChopTop - I'd appreciate it.

We will double check but when Vince Called they had plenty left for the Car Show weekend.
Ok I just talked to Vince and here is what he had said,
They still have rooms open but you have to ask for "Fierorama Show Special" the rooms are $79 a night.
If you do not ask for the Show Rate the room is between $109-$150. So please ask for the Show Rate.
i did mention the fiero show. TWICE! grrr, i've already got my room booked in the other hotel for two nights oh well at least it's just across the street.

Hmmmm that is roughly 800 miles away......so 8 hours in a fiero. I sure hope I am able to make this one.
------------------ ------------------ "what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul"

Yeah Vince said that if anyone is booking a room at the Holiday Inn you must ask for BOB he is the manager... The people are the front desk for some reason do not know what is going on and have been booking rooms at the normal rate and telling people that the hotel is booked....
Bob said that there are plenty rooms left and is going to talk to the front desk people to find out what is going on...

i didn't have to ask for "Bob". i asked the person that answered the phone if he knew about the special rate for the fiero show and he said yes. but i was prepaired to ask for "Bob" if need be. he said thay hadn't had that many calls for a while and then all of a sudden they are having a run on them. which i could believe cause the first time i called i got a busy signal :WTF: it's 2006 what's a busy signal???
now to cancle my reservations at the best western

Glad to hear you got a room. We had about 5-6 people call us over the past few days to tell us that the holiday Inn was full. and after Vince talked to the Hotel he told us to call everyone who called to call the hotel again and book a room because they were not full...
They need to get the information straight or we will not be back next year....so which that said to them I think they got the picture... haha
But glad to hear you and everyone else now is getting a room with the special rate.
