Movie night time once again... We'll be meeting at the Parks Mall theatre (in Arlington) on Monday, July 10th for the 7pm-ish showing of Fast & Furious 3: Tokyo Drift.
Previous movie nights have included gathering near the theatre for dinner around 5:30pm. Location is still to be determined.
So who's up for dinner and show?

oh y'all, I just said that to make Amber roll her eyes.
But hey, since this is a democracy, majority rules, right? (unless the recount has to be decided by the Supreme Court) <--- baiting James
I think maybe we should rotate who picks the restaurant. Amber picked the yummy backlava (sp?) Greek place. We could then try Daniels experimental BBQ place. Then let Tom have the reigns for 'Talladega Nights, the Legend of Terry Bobby' next month... If someone picks a bad restaurant, we can then make fun of them and make them feel small and unimportant.
what'dya think?

i like the rotating menu, but need to know what people will and will not eat. don't want to offend anybody with my food choices. don't want to pick an all meat place when someone is a vegan.

There is a nice Mexican place out here by my place. How about there?--LOL
I suppose I can suffer through barbeque this once (thanks Blake) and by once I do mean in addition to EVERY MONTH at Pappa's. I'm kidding, I don't mind that much. I like the idea of a rotating restaraunt selection- I don't think any of us are that particular, afterall, I did make y'all eat delicious little baby lambs
I will do my best to find out the exact movie starting time, it's hard with it being in the beginning of the week alot of times they change from the weekend but the change isn't advertised til midweek. I'll try calling the theatre on Sunday, how bout that?
And Stephen, Daniel and I have a little different idea of something for everyone to get together and do up by your house that just might be able to include that mexican place... will discuss at the meeting

Maybe just drift on the way back home... that way you and your car actually make it to the movie. Or better yet, I got my car fixed (it's fast now, who would have known?) yesterday so how's about we all bring our Fieros and pretend the mall parking lot is a track and race there instead of watching the movie? I bet it would be far more entertaining
Beh, moviefone... making everything so simple. I suppose I can try it this once...

What was wrong with it? Did you get the 4500 RPM thing figured out?
I hope Amber doesn't mind me answering this? Well to make a long story short, it was a combination of coil and module. When the car was under load at that point (4500 RPM) the secondary ignition output was pushed higher and one of the coils was spiking the module. The ignition scope was showing 2 cylinders shorting out which was on the same coil. But when we checked the injector pulse, they would shut off at the point of stumbleing. I too was getting to the point it sounded like a program problem, but when the computer did not fix it, we knew it was something else. The computer gets it pulse and synch from the crank and cam sensors, but though the module. So we tried that and it made a world of difference. It's like a different car now. Anyway lets just say it's come along way.

Good to hear the car is running right now and the problem is fixed.
Okay so my BBQ place is not open on Mondays. So, my next pick is No Frills Grill at 4914 Little road right off I20 on the south side. So if your coming from FTW turn right on Little rd. and it's in the shoping center on the right. We'll meet between 5:30 and 6pm.
The 4000rpm problem was caused by the ignition module and maybe on of the coils. We chopped off the cat and it was pretty obvious that it was back firing so we swaped out module and coils with a car that Bob had laying around. Oh yes a BIG thanks to Bob for all the help.
Hrrm, those aren't the most convenient of movie times are they? 6:40 puts dinner in a bit too much of a rush for a sit down type place and 9:20 is probably too late for those who have to work the next day.

Talked to Daniel, he has changed his dinner selection to the Burger Street right on the other side of 20 from the mall (still at the Cooper exit). It's alot closer to the mall, it won't take as long to go in and eat, and it's almost as delicious. I think especially if we aim more towards the 5:30-ish mark that should give us plenty of time. Does that work for everyone?

The 1840 sounds good (tight, but good). I got a shift change today, so I should be able to get to Burger Street around 1700'ish.
Just for funnies, I checked showtimes at the Green Oaks Movie Tavern... eat and watch movies... Cool!, anyway they had times at 1540 and 2200. Not in any manner good for our schedules...
See y'all at BS!

I didn't mean to jump the gun. If we are meeting at Burger street, we will be there. I didn't mean to jump the voting.....So do we need to put this to a vote? I just need to know for sure before I leave today.
Anything sounds good to me. Oh don't tell my soon-to-be wife I've already seen the movie. I thought the cultural differences were very interesting. and the cars........sooooo manyyyyyyyyyyyyyy caaaaaarrrrrssssss. I figured she would like to see it too.
