Some pictures of my current projects:

My 86 GT 5 speed in prep phase for primer (this car was found under a stand of pine trees covered in bird poo - purchase price - $0.00 FREE):

My 87 GT automatic, waiting its turn at the bodyshop (this car sat on a used car lot for 6 years - 37,000 miles - purchase price $700.00):

Just got the photo upload software working with my Mepis Linux. Yes Linux folks it can be done!

Cheers

You got some sweet deals on both of those cars!

I wish I could have gotten my car back when it had 37000 miles on it.. (or km's) it now sits at 230 000 Km....

Do you know what colour your painting them yet?
How did they run when you bought them?

Mechanically the 86 runs but needs the following:

MAJOR tune up and EGR valve / window motors / headlight motors (of course) / various little switches, etc. Needs brakes all the way around which is why the previous owner gave up. He just put a clutch in at a local shop for $800.00 and two weeks later the brakes went. This car will go back to its original red color and has a luggage rack, no spoiler. It had an aftermarket spoiler when I got it and I am finishing 2 decklids, one with that spoiler and one with the luggage rack. She also has some interesting 16 inch Ultra wheels on now. This is the car we are bringing to the 25th anniversary show, should be done long before then.

The 87:

Ran when shut down 6 years ago. Needs brakes and one headlight motor. Needs new left front fender and thats about it. Will of course need tune up, fluids changed, etc. Will go back to original metallic blue paint. I have all the apparently missing trim parts for the car.

sounds like you got some fun ahead of you!

i remember doing breaks with my dad on my 86gt. it wasnt the best time i had with my fiero! and you have 2 of them to do!

my egr valve literally rotted off, and just before i was going to pull onto the highway. the car just stalled.. then wouldnt start. needless to say my dad got a call from one very stressed daughter! but lucky for me he seems to be able to fix everything my car throws at him, and im always there to help him out.

so good luck with your cars, and definitly keep updating with photos!

That's exactly what happened on the 86 - the EGR rotted off -- oyyy!

Brakes are a bear, and they both need E brake cables - oh well, nothing else to do this summer - LOL
