Anyone ever see one of these up close? I like the front facia. Where did the interior come from?

One with one and a second on here was trying to sell one he had recently aquired. Sweet looking, I have to wonder if I saw one here in Indiana recently. The rear taillights look the same as one I almost thought was a fiero. Maybe I'll see that car again....

There was a young guy on here who was trying to sell his white Enterra. He said there were more produced, something like 24 or 36 total, but maybe that was a different Enterra model..?

This is getting strange. If these are so rare, how come there are not one, but 2 in my area.

I trust the Grins Galore site and I trust the person that owns and wrote that page. I have even met a person that did some of the fiberglass lay ups of the original cars in Burnaby if I remember correctly.

They are cool but there was a hell of a lot more than 2 of them made. There are 2 or 3 here in BC alone.

Sorry I don't mean to rant, I just keep seeing a surge in BS about these cars from people trying to make a quick buck on cars they don't even know enough about to sell properly.

The White one was from the kid on the forum. It looks like Fieroman guessed to within $400 of what it sold for.

This has already been explained above. There were 2 made in the US and the one on eBay is one of the two. The company then moved to Canada and completed another 30 or so cars. I don't see any reason to expect that there would not be several in your area since they were built in B.C., Burnaby to be exact. It is reasonable that not a lot of people know much about these cars, and it is not fair to think that people are trying to make a 'quick buck' on them. The one that just sold on eBay went for around $10k American. That is a fair price. The one here in CA has already met reserve at $5k. Where is the quick buck? This car is worth $12k minimum, in my opinion, and up to $15-18k.

On another note... I have been talking to the owner and I have volunteered that if anyone here is seriously interested in this car I will drive over and check it out for them. He seems like a very nice guy who had no idea what to ask for this car... That is why the reserve was only $5000. I wouldn't mind having this car myself but since I am trying to thin my herd I am not looking to buy anything else.

Just thought I would join in and help to clarify the myths surrounding the History of the Enterra Automobile.
The grinsgaloure guy and I have chatted... as well as the fellow selling the silver one. They are both right.
The silver car is one of 2 cars that were made in Simi Valley... and worked for the Canadian company where there was approx. 36 cars made. I am trying to keep track of all cars that are found... to create a database for future inquires. I have all original information on the company as well as the only copy of the assembly mannual that was never printed. I you could direct people that know where these cars are to me I would greatly appreciate it very much. richardl@ccvbc.com

The interior is part of the Enterra package. You can see the stock Fiero dash up by the windshield and all the padding and extra goodies you see were added.

Thanks to everyone for the interest in my car.
Enterrabuilder has the real deal on where the car came from and was in charge of the conversion in Southern CA, after having previously worked the conversions in Canada in the early years. I've had the car from day one and he knows more about its constuction than I do.
Curly has seen the car here in Tehachapi on a couple of occasions and we have discussed it at length.
Songman is nearby in Bakersfield and has volunteered to look at it for the reat of you, but my schedule isn't going to allow for that.
I added some more pictures yesterday.

A couple of modifications I had put on the car were:
The front tires were throwing rocks at the flared portion of the rocker panel just in front of the rear wheel well. The paint was rapidly disappearing from that region, so I had aluminum plates put on in that area. Additionally, small deflectors were added to the front wheel well to stop the problem at the source.
As built, the running lights were wired so they only came on when you put on the highbeams. I wanted the option of turning them on independently from the high beams, so a switch was added to the dash to let me do this.
At the same time I had the car repainted to recover from the damage done by the rocks. We used the same paint: Sikkens brand, the color is the same as for the 1987 Audi.

The car has been an absolute dream to own and still catches eyes at its age.
I just had to see how fast it would go and tried on a couple of deserted roads; I couldn't get it over 115 MPH. In 4th gear, it is RPM limited (I wouldn't go past the red line); in 5th gear, it is horsepower limited. The gauge stops at 120 MPH. But, at that speed, the car is in good control and holds the road.
One thing I have often thought about, once the warranty ran out, was having Archie put a V8 in it. Curly showed me how neatly a Northstar engine can go in that engine compartment and some future owner would be putting icing on the cake if he so desired...

Now that would complete a rare beautiful car like yours! Congrats on meeting your reserve and I bet it's going to be hard to part with!

I've seen one, been in one, touched one, photo graphed one, got the history on one, was going to buy [this] one, and passed on [this] one.

It's a very, very nice car. If I had the time and place to store it, I might have mustered-up the courage to buy it?

Hehehe. At the time, Mesbur didn't want to sell it so I promised to keep his wishes. However, I wanted "exclusive rights" to keep bugging him to death for him to sell it to me, hehe.

You are right, I will have a hard time parting with this car. It has been a privilege to own and drive this vehicle. It would be fitting if there were a Fiero museum somewhere that this work of art could spend its remaining days. But if not, the next owner, is in for good times behind the wheel.

From grinsgalore.com:
"Our research shows they built only 36 cars in Canada. Of these most were sold into the US market. It was only to be sold thru GM dealership as an option known as the Enterra style package on a Fiero. GM in agreement with this plan was then to cover the regular warranty with an additional warranty for the body and interior through the Enterra company."

So this was going to be a "Mera" type option? with GM's involvement?
I wonder if there is any documentation on this, makes the car even more interesting.

Indeed, they are Cavalier taillights. This portion of the car is very flat and few other lights have no curvature. One of the next changes due for the car's conversion was to get their own design of taillight; along with other goodies, like a supercharger.
Plans were to produce 3 to 5 autos per day, but that never happened.
The Mera was the other popular conversion and it was on display at the same LA Auto Show as this one.

That was a really nice looking car with lots of histry. The last one on E-Bay went for over $10,000.
The car looks a little like the Predator, which is #3 of 3 cars built. I think I would give the Predator to some lucky PFF member before I would sell it foe $5,000

Interesting how much everyone knows about this car now... after this posting. I find it interestng comign back after a few days to read all the comments.
The guy is right about the tail lights ... just cut off a bit of plastic trim and they fit right into the Enterra body panel. the rest of the lights are stock fiero. except Burts silver one. Wehn I built the 2 cars in California... we changed the cavity in the fenders to take a aftermarket lens.. from Groto I think... and molded the socekt for the light bulb right into the body panel. JW aka BrendaM really did steal this one... outbid me by 100$ only because the action ended at 445am .. and I didnt' feel like getting out of bed to bid on it. My loss.. very upset that I let it get away. Please if anyone sees another one ... anywhere contact me right away. richardl@ccvbc.com

Hi Folks

Thought I would post the link to my web site, there is a bit of a history there about the car. Having said that Enterrabuilder would know more than anybody.
