Is there a company that makes a 355 kit to fit the fastback? Or has anyone done it and can explain how they did it? I've got a line on a complete 355 body kit and am considering it but I'm not that interested in a droptop. I like the concept of maintaining the structural integrity of the roof but having the look of the 355 Berlinetta. Before you say it, I KNOW there are Berlinetta kits out there already...but I want to modify the droptop kit (a lot cheaper and more of them around, as far as I can tell) to fit the existing fastback roofline.
Lemme know if anyone has any sources for into. Thanks in advance.

Go for it. The thing about these kits, is that these people that do them, want their cars to look like the ferrari's, and not retain the fiero look anymore. I haven't seen anything else out there to what you want, but I would say if you really want to do it, go for it. Just need a little bit of fiberglass skills in cutting and pasting the two together. As for the rear, I haven't seen one in a while, but I would say that the trunk would hit your fastback perches... So you might have to modify those as well... Well best of luck to you sir!
I'm with you on all of the drop tops. Everyone seems to do the convertible version. I'm not a fan of any convertibles really. I'm trying to make my car look like a 355 wannabe by changing an '88 coupe into a fastback, adding a trunk-lip spoiler, round tail lights, Dietmar side scoops and skirts mixed with the stage II trim, and topping off with a euro nose from The Fiero Warehouse. Also puting a mustang scoop on the decklid. I'll paint it Ferrari red, add some insignia, and have five-spoke rims. It'll still end up retaining a lot of the Fiero but look a little like a 355. I think it'll turn some heads. Let's see, I'm puting German parts on an American car to make it look more Itallian. Does that sound weird?

This is kinda a old picture of my car but you can see the factory Ferrari 355 roof line, my car is built on an 86 Fiero GT. I would have to say unless you really want to spend some good money on a good kit, stay away. I have the best 355 kit on the market and it is still a big pain in the butt to put together. I have seen too many good fieros get torn apart and never finished because the kit sucked. If you have the time and are good with fabrication, then go ahead and start a kit, but take my advise and buy a good kit up front. If I can help you in anyway feel free to ask. Oh and by the way these arent cheap to build, im already in over $14,000.

Chris, if I'm not mistaken, is doing the AD355 by Air Dynamics. Best 355 available, period.
Doni: You have to go to Ari's kitcar Forum: www.kitcar.ca There are a lot of builds there, and good people that can help. In the tech forum, there is a post on converting the convertible to the Berlinetta, not using GT parts. I forgot who's doing it, but they formed the back section out of foam, then fiberglassed over it. And, as mentioned above, 355Spider used the AD355 convertible and the Fiero GT fastback to form a psuedo 355. It looks pretty good.
Amazing... I guess I've only really ever glanced at Mike's car - never noticed the different roofline before. It's clearly not the original Ferrari shape, but it really does look nice anyway!

Where did you get your kit? and how much did it cost? The doors look much better than 98%of the kits you see. Thanks, Mark Klein
RCR is right it is an AD 355 (Air Dynamics), It cost $7,500.00. AD kit is nice because it can use all original Ferrari parts, for example my car has factory: Challenge Rear Grill, Tail Lights, Third Brake Light, Emblems, Quarter Windows, Turn Singles, Front Grill, Muffler, and much much more. The nice thing is all these part just bolt up to the AD kit without modification.
