I was wondering what the ratio of automatic transmissions for 4 cylinder transmissions are versus manuals?

It appears that everytime that I see a duke, it is a manual transmission.

I know that this is not realistic, but were most 4 cylinders manuals?

I think most Fieros , most years were spilt even auto/stick or close anyway
but maybe the sticks tend to be owned by people who take better care of their cars
as most stick drivers tend to know cars a little better
so less stick cars are junked

Question wonder and be wierd
are you kind?

you know i saw list of production numbers on here once, years, models, colors, etc. can't think of what the title of the thread was. i imagine there were more autos made (anybody can dive an auto but not a manual) but there are a lot of manuals out there.

It depended a lot on the market demand in different parts of the country. The West coast had a higher level of import cars which were equipped with manual transmissions thus dealers had a tendancy to stock what sold and there were no restrictions on the availability of manual vs auto transmissions so it was what ever the market demanded in a specific area of the country. Over half of the Fiero original purchases were 4 cylinder and made by females. Average age of Fiero purchaser was 25 years of age. Youngest in GM history of any make.
