So if you've followed my air bag suspension at all, you may remember that I waited a month for this:

I figured I could sandblast all my parts clean and POR-15 'em. Well, what a waste of time that thing was. The working area is enough for parts...but not parts + your hands + the gun. What a nightmare. The glass beads would pile up on the opposite side of the pick up too! Plus the thing isn't sealed that well so I had to wear a mask anyway...even with a shop vac collecting the dust. Oh, and I had to buy a new pick up hose because the kink in it wouldn't let anything through!

So...just to prove there is no real science to anything, well nothing I can't half a$$ better than something junky I just paid too much for... I gathered some scrap 2x3's and $20 worth of hardboard(masonite) and made this:

I can fit a crossmember in with room to spare
Works really well!!! I need to open up the air intake port because the shop vac creates a vaccuum in it...but there is absolutely no dust.
I used all the parts from the one I bought...the pickup tube, gun, gloves, and ports.
Now I might actually get something done

Yeah--I bought one similar to that and its not the best in the world. Everything you listed wrong with it is right on the money, damn near died from breathing in so many dust particuls. I was going to build one but needed one that dau to finish some parts that I had sold and needed to blast them. Once I get a bigger shop, I wanna buiod a larger one to be able to do most suspension parts on my car.

The gun is a siphon feed, so just hang the hose supplying the gun with blast media so that the end is down in the hopper.
