Gas prices in Athens Tn. today started out at $2.41 and went up to $2.98 in about 4 hours. Most stations I checked were out of regular and only had premium. I also heard from a very reliable sorce that it will be next week before they would get more gas. I also heard it would go up another $1.25 a gallon for regular, by an unreliable sorce. All I know for sure is it cost me $19.00 to fill up my Fiero this morning. I'm going to park my V-6 and start driving my 4 cylinder. It cost $165.00 to fill up my work truck. Needless to say I parked it. If I get the motor put in the Honda I'm working on before Friday evening, I'll be in Helen, if not then I can't afford the trip. Shouldn't be a problem but you know how rice burners are.

Hey Ronnie! Good to hear from you! I miss hanging out with all of my East Coast buddies! Just my luck that I would plan this trip right between the lunch in Helen and the RFTHs. You are right about the gas prices possibly messing stuff up. I am worried about what it may do to attendance at the Coast Run and that is not until November. If I had been watching the forum and had known about the dates of the RFTHs I might have tried to postpone this a little more, but I bought this car August 1 and they have been holding it for me all this time. It is already paid for so they don't really mind but I will feel better knowing it is safe in my possession. There will be other events we can attend I am sure. Say hi to everyone for me.
Hey, guys, I'm still planning to be there. Mike Benson posted on the Georgia Fiero site that he had spoken with the Chamber of Commerce. Damage was on the south end of town. Our area wasn't damaged, and they're looking forward to seeing us. Thanks Mike.

Yeah, I have liked them since they came out. The history is a lot like the Fiero. They only made them for four years. The first couple of years were troublesome. When they finally got them right, they cancelled the line. This one is a 90. It is new enough that it got rid of the problems. The only bad thing about it is that it was 91 before they got the Series II 3800. This one is a Series I. But the best thing is that a 3800SC will bolt right in!
ANYONE FOR TUBING DOWN THE RIVER tomorrow?? Thought it could be an alternative to burning up gas. Nice rebody Songman ! Even with an engine swap in the front , COOL !!

Hah, the only way I could make it is if I were to somehow swim/tube/row up the Chattahoochee river. I live like a 1/2 mile away from it. I won't be able to make it to the Helen thing because of gasoline prices .

I'm not sure if I'm going to be there or not. I've worked nights all week, and my body still wants to be up all night and asleep by 9:00 AM. Maybe if I can get some sleep...
