they say painting the blower keeps the heat IN . you don't want that. valve covers...anything really
Dont listen to this guy, hes crazy or at least acts like he is. This has been dicussed before about the heat being held in and so one. I dont think the extra paint on the SC is going to hold in that much extra heat consisdering how much heat you will have under the decklid, it gets extremly hot and fast. Use 1500 degree or higher engine paint and you will be fine. Be sure to prep the VC of the paint doesnt like to stick that well.

Steve, Spoken like someone that DOESN'T have his blower painted either !
Jason, just do what the hell you want. paint it red and be JUST LIKE ....lowfierogt, skitime, low Key, fieroX, ryan, robecky and several others!
I have even seen a yellow blower !! Just get it on the road !!!
Well. mine is purple, and it is just regular automotive paint. I had it black for several years with no problems, so I don't think HIGH TEMP paint is necessary. My valve covers are also painted the same way. But YES, make sure the vavle covers are well cleaned and you my want to smooth the blower to make it look sleaker, like mine. It made mine 2 tenths faster.

I seen someones valve covers painted blue with an unpainted blower. I thought that looked cool. Especially on a silver Fiero. That's what I planned on doing until I sold my S/C 3800.
Thanks for all the replies. I think I know what to do now. I still don't even have the engine yet , but it is on layaway and will be in my grasp in about a month or two.

Well Revin, if you want to pitch into the pot your more than welcome. I have $650.00 left to pay it off, and then I can get started. I have the cradle from the 87 that I scraped so I will setup everything and just swap the cradles when I am ready. I already have a 3800 flywheel I picked up for $50.00, but I still need to have it turned down to the .840 spec. Hey, what clutch did you use on your buildup? Anyway I will post pics as soon as I start this new journey and actually have the engine in my hands.

Am I going colorblind, or does Purple Reign's (almost typed "Purple Peign," although that might be correct for his wallet) car and blower show up as a cocoa brown metallic to anyone else? (Which would be way cool too...)
