OK, here we go- an opportunity for everyone out there who knows from experience what will fit or work in a Fiero from other cars or manufactures. I think what would be best would be to have a collection of posts that parts from other cars that enhance appearance or performance. As far as new parts go, it would be a great idea to find out from others wha tthey have found works really well that the average joe schmoe wouldn't normally find on their own. Thanks in advance to everyone who shares their experience with us. I know that this will save me a lot of time and trouble as well as maybe giving me some ideas that I hadn't thought of yet!

88 - 91 CRX "Cold Air Intake" If you like the sound of the air filter sucking in the air its cool, it also is bent perfectly to sit right next to the air vent in the rear quarter panel. Do a search on it, it hasnt been talked about lately but there is alot of posts on installation, and you can buy them fairly cheap on ebay usually around 20 dollars, pop a K&N on it and see if you feel any gains.

Corbeau GTS II seats are 20.5" wide, but I believe you will lose 1" of head room with them. I found a place that even sells seat tracks to go on the Corbeau seats for the Fiero, but the link is at home. I can post it later if you want. The Corbeau seats are about $640 US for the pair plus the cost of the seat tracks.

What year firebirds?

Does this apply to 84-86 Fieros, or 87-88s, or all?

88 Beretta GT 2.8 flyweel is available at Kragen for like $45 and it will work in place of the neutrally balanced 88' Fiero flywheel. I'm using one on my 3.4L TDC swap. Finding an 88' Fiero flywheel is sometimes almost impossible.

front lower ball joints from a 1982 chevy chevette are the same as the 1984-1987 front lower ball joints for the fiero, often at parts stores, these are hard to get for the fiero, but say 1982 chevette and there ya go, magically in stock!

i think im going to check on factory rubber bushings too but you never know.

headlight motors, i believe 1982-1986 camaro/firebird are the same as 84-86 fiero, and 87-92? camaro/firebird are the same as the 87-88 fiero.

along with the headlight relay thats under the fender on the 87-88 fiero's

Headlight motors from 82-86 Firebirds are the same as used in 84-86 Fieros. Motors in 87-92 (I think 92)

motors are the same as those used in 87/8 Fieros. I think they have to be swapped side for side though. Ogre
says the Sunbird motors will also fit. See article in his Cave and also the one at

http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Garage/5007/fiero_osg/headlights.html.
Headlight modules from 87-92? Firebirds are identical to the ones used in 87/8 Fieros.

Mirrors on Firebirds and Camaros from the same years that the Fiero was produced are the same, including power

units.

Power window motors (but probably not the regulators?) and power door lock actuators are also the same from

like years of Firebirds and Camaros.

PW and PM switches are exactly the same in some years of Firebirds/Camaros. Since all these electrical items

are the same, then so are the connectors. Even if the actual wiring harness is different in the F bodies, the
connectors can be used to fabricate your own wiring harnesses (to upgrade to genII headlight motors, for
example) or to replace connectors that may be damaged in your Fiero.
I just took a rear wing of an 86 Firebird (has 3rd brake light) and it is gonna look nice on my car -- and it
was Cheap. It is the same shape as the Fiero wing but not as wide (from front to back) and maybe sits lower. I
had about given up on ever finding a wing for my 85 GT project car but bought this one a couple weeks ago from
he u-pull-it.

Many have mentioned getting hood struts from different cars to install on the rear decklid to compensate for

having the wrong torsion springs when adding or removing a wing or luggage rack. I could never figure out just

which ones they meant and I don't want to pay a lot of money for one especially since what I am really looking
for is a set of the correct springs to go in my GT. But, in the meantime, I scavenged a hood prop rod from a
small Ford pickup and mounted it to my rear decklid so I don't have to keep putting that long stick up
everytime I am working back there.

I found an EGR cover on some mid-80's GM car that fits my Fiero perfectly. Someone occassionally sells these
on ebay.

I've got an in-dash OEM Pontiac CD player from a '96 Sunfire(?)...
============================================================================================================

How about auto dimming mirrors from just about any other car that has one

============================================================================================================

Grab a Fiero front swaybar and linkages, and slap 'er in the rear
============================================================================================================

The hood strut for the rear deck lid is off a 84-87 Cutlass. I just redid this and got a new one from Pepboys,
it works great.
Mid 90's Sunbird Turbo style scoops, look like same year TA's only backward.

===========================================================================================================

"Ram Air V6" emblems from late model Grand Ams. You must have a turbo on your Fiero or you are a ricer!
Also, 6000 STE (the upper end model) has the same steering wheel as the 86+ GT's. (minus the "Fiero GT" horn
cap)

6000, Sunbird and I am sure others use the same stereo as the push-button Fiero stereos.

Early Sunbirds (around 86) use the same horn-paddle steering wheel as the 86-88 SE, Formula and Coupe Fieros.

Late 80's Turbo Sunbirds have nice hood vents that look pretty nice on the hoods of Fieros (and lets air
escape from under the hood).

C4 Corvette roof section (targa top) is the same deminsion as the Fiero roof section.

===========================================================================================================

Grand Am seats,swap the tracks with the Fiero tracks and they bolt right in.About a hours work. They come in

gray or tannish brown.Two door seats fold forward like the Fiero,four door seats do not fold at all.
Don't forget things like 120mph gauges and aux gauges,they bolt right in too.

The late eighties Cutlass Ciera has plastic caps on the front shock towers to cover the strut shaft and nut so

they don't show..I think these covers would fit on the rear strut towers of the Fiero

===========================================================================================================

no one has mentioned a 82 corvette Master cylinder upgrade, it doesnt look stock but it works like a damn and

the pontiac ste axle upgrade. factory fiero axles are something like 23mm where as the ste is something like

25mm.
===========================================================================================================

I just installed cavalair??? seats Black cloth with a cool pattern in them. Direct bolt on to the Fiero

tracks, plus they are REALLY comfortable.
They also sit about 1/2 an inch lower.
===========================================================================================================

I am surprised no one has mentioned the amazing CRX ram air intake.
Take a 88-91 CRX Si raing ram air intake and plop, it under the hood of a fiero and it works and looks great.

I hear it is easier to do on the auto's though rather then the manuals. I can't quite remeber why though

===========================================================================================================

The sun visors from a LeBaron are a direct bolt-in. This lets you have lighted visors. I collected them to the
power supply in the overhead lights.

You can use the overhead console from a Grand Am, also, as long as you don't mind modifying the headliner. I

used one so that I could have a nice, neat driving light switch that looked stock.

I know that 88 and 89's will work, as well as the one's from a Shadow. I think that all of the last series of

LeBaron coupes use the same visors. I just got an 1990 LeBaron and they look pretty close also
Another semi-bolt-on mod: The power seat base in an Olds Calais will bolt up to a stock Fiero seat. The seat

bases must be changed, however, to bolt on to the floor. Also, the seat switch must be moved, as it interferes

with the e-brake.

I did both of these, and a electrically dimming mirror, while I had the headliner out to put on a GT rear

clip.

I saw a molded steering wheel from a newer Grand Am or Sunbird on a Fiero in a used car lot. Couldn't figure
out what car it came from but it had the Pontiac emblem on it and looked like it belonged. Had horn paddles
like the SE and Formula wheels but was a newer style.
If anyone knows what car this could be from I would think it's a bolt-on and a nice upgrade for your melted,
sagging leather wheel.

I just did that exact thing this last weekend and it was a breeze. The A Arms had holes in the correct spots
and it was easy to drill the holes in the back end of the cradle for the sway bar brackets. I used a 2 5/8 in
polyurethane end link kit from Energy Suspensions. $13 for the sway bar at the local Pick-a-Part and $15 for
the end link kit at Pep Boys. About 2 hrs to drill and mount it up. I took my time and made sure everything
fit perfect. It could be done in a lot less time.
