The paint on my car looks like someone ran a wire brush over it (got it this way, not my fault) and I'm wondering if there is a miracle cure for this or if I have to repaint the sucker. I'd be happy to post some pics if it helps.

Cannot offer any help - I suspect it will need a paint job.
I have similar sounding paint on my 85 gt on the rear of the roof and the deak lid. Some windblown spray from the painter doing the house next door over ten years ago covered those parts and he and I spent an afternoon rubbing the white paint off the red car. I thought the use of denatured alcohal on the paint caused that. I suspect that keeping the car parked in the sun for so many year could have done it. For most of those years I did have a cover on the car.
Best of luck.

There is only one miracle cure for it.....Paint job........Sorry. The worst is you will have to sand it all the way down so that it will not come back when you do paint it. I got nudged on the rear bumper cover so I am in the same situation.

I'm in agreement with the above posts that a new paint job is the only way to fix your problem. But if you have a black, white, or red car, there is a product out there called Color Back. I think turtle wax makes it. Anyway, its a colored wax that "leaves itself behind" in the cracks when you buff it off. Kinda masks the spider webbing so it isn't so noticable.

Is it the whole car, or just a few small spots?

Cracked / crazed paint is a real problem. The only cure is new paint - and only if the part is stripped down to bare plastic before repainting. If the part isn't stripped first, the cracks will reappear in a few weeks.

Mostly the trunk and roof area. The rest isn't so bad. I think maybe I'll do an ebay thing and try to sell some pet rocks I've got "resting" in my back yard to help pay for the new paint job. Maybe I better call Macco.

It mostly happens to the flat areas up top. Only permanent fix is stripping those panels by sanding, to bare plastic and starting over.

Wash then clay then compound then polish then wax (for bigger problems use a variable speed buffer) if done properly will get rid of minor-mild spiderwebbing and will cause water too fear your car... not a guarantee but it did work for me with a mild spiderweb on the rear bumper

That's worth trying! I notice alot of advice recommending sanding down. I saw in a post once that someone used chemical paint remover to do basically the same thing. Has anyone used this method and if so, how were the results?

i have the same problem with mine i tried everything but nothing really worked for the most part trying to wax it only lasted for so long and then ya had to redo it again and again my only solution was to get the car repainted if ya and a budy can do all the prep work your selves then take it to a body shop and have them primer and paint it then you will be better off. The paint job will also be much cheaper as they charge moslty on the bases of the preping of the car.

My fiero is at the shop as we speek getting painted as i got tired of looking at how sad it was - clear coat was peeling off all over place, scratches, chips, fading and lots of spider web cracks. A freind and i sanded here down areselves and then i sent here off for paint the car is suppose to be ready on saturday but i talked to the shop earllier and it looks like i may have to wait till monday.

I have pictures posted on my post at general fiero chat of cousres the pictures funny as it is make my car look better then what it really is except the pictures of the prep work i am going to post new pictures of the new paint job as soon as i get it back from the shop in that post so keep a look out for it.

Best of luck though as i know how it feels to have a sad looking fiero that no one really takes a second look at --- but when i am done with mine i will be turning heads :+)

i will also have to update my signature picture once i get my fiero completed
